Military gifts have been a part of the Lynden community for years. From small tokens of appreciation to larger items, military gifts have meant something different to every person and family. The Lynden Community Foundation has collected donations from residents in Lynden since 1976. This collection of donated items includes military memorabilia, weapons, armor, and more. The purpose of the Foundation is to support local businesses and organizations in their mission to promote volunteerism and give back to the community. In 1978, the Foundation began selling military gift certificates at its members’ meetings. These certificates allowed individuals and families to purchase an item from any member-owned business in Lynden. The certificates could be redeemed at any time for cash or merchandise that had been purchased at a local store within the past year. Since then, the Foundation has continued giving away gift certificates as well as money back into the coffers of the organization in order to support our mission statement of promoting volunteerism and giving back to our community. The present day donation process begins with emailing a request for donations to foundation@lydenwa.gov . After receiving your request we will review all potential donations and make a selection based on what we feel is important for our causepalette as well as how it aligns with our core values associated with philanthropy/community service (www.lydenwafoundation.org). Once we make this selection, we will send you an invoice through Paypal which you can pay by check or money order payable to “LyDENWAFoundation” or “Community Foundation Incorporated” Please note: There is no minimum amount required when donating; however please consider making a donation that meets or exceeds your needs!
