In 1949, the old elementary school building (now known as the Snohomish County Courthouse) was erected at 5555 N 85th Ave., just south of Safeco Field; it housed county government until 1975 when it became part of the new courthouse complex being constructed north of Safeco Field across SR-5 from where Stadium now stands.
