The Washington Army National Guard has a rich history in Lake Forest Park. The unit was first organized on July 1, 1855, and served as an infantry regiment until 1865. In 1917, the Washington Army National Guard became a brigade-sized unit and served as part of the United States War Department during World War I. The brigade returned to the U.S. National Guard in 1921 and served again through World War II before being disbanded in 1946. The unit was reactivated in 1959 as an artillery battalion and serves today as part of the 9th Infantry Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division.
Lake Forest Park is a village in King County, Washington, United States. The population was 20,878 at the 2010 census. The village is part of the Bellevue–Renton Metropolitan Statistical Area. It is located on the southern edge of Seattle and south of Redmond. Interstate 5 skirts its eastern border. The first Europeans to come to Lake Forest Park were fur traders in the early 1800s. In 1853, Daniel Ellicott donated land for a public school and college in what would become Lake Forest Park. In 1865, Congress created King County as a new county within Washington Territory and appointed John Denny as its first sheriff. After Denny's death in 1866, his widow decided to name her new son after him—John Denny Jr., also known as Jack or Jay—thus creating one half of the dual name for both counties today: Lake Forest Park/King County (Washington). In 1905, Stonington Savings Bank built an ornate addition to their building on First Avenue that became known as "The Tower." The tower served as a bank headquarters until it was replaced by the current building in 1931. That year saw the opening of First Avenue Elementary School which continues to serve as the village's only primary school today. In 1912-13, Lake Forest Park High School opened with grades 9-12 and remained operational until 1957 when it merged into nearby Redmond High School (later renamed Microsoft High School). In 1969-70, First Avenue Elementary moved from its original location next door to Pinehurst Middle School into what is now called South Hall at Lakeshore Drive NE after being displaced by major renovations at Pinehurst; this area later became home to Maple Leaf Middle School and North Hall at Lakeshore Drive NE before finally becoming South Hall again in 2002 when lakeshore drive was named for then US Representative Norm Coleman who represented that district from 1999-2002 A portion of Bradley International Airport east of I-5 was annexed by town in 1978 following annexation efforts by then Mayor Don Armstrong and other officials concerned about potential development there adjacent to undeveloped woods bordering town land . A large shopping center called "Lakefront" developed around it but never came close to meeting community standards set by Armstrong which led him eventually retire from politics altogether.. In recent years much work has been done with regards transportation infrastructure including streetlights along I-5 corridor connecting Village with satellite townships like Bellevue and Renton; these have helped reduce traffic congestion around lake forest park village center while providing some degree of social interaction between residents & visitors alike

Lake Forest Park is a census-designated place in King County, Washington, United States. The population was 1,898 at the 2000 census. It is part of the Seattle–Tacoma metropolitan area. The CDP covers an area of and had a population of 1,898 as of the 2010 Census. Lake Forest Park is bounded on the north by Auburn Street and to the east by Snoqualmie Pass Road. To the south it borders unincorporated areas of King County which are also within the CDP limits. Lake Forest Park was organized on March 15, 1907 when portions of what are now Tacoma and Bellevue were annexed into King County. On November 3, 1916 voters added another ward - northwest corner of Maple Valley - to neighboring Ballard Township in order to form Lake Forest Park proper. At that time only one-third of its current area had been developed as parkland or housing; much of it still occupies undeveloped forest land today. The first permanent home for residents in Lake Forest Park was a cabin built by George Fenton on his farm near present day Third Avenue South and Meridian Drive South in 1909 using logs from his family's previous farmstead northeast of downtown Tacoma. In 1914 Fenton sold his land along Third Avenue South to John Davenport for $2,500 cash plus 10 acres (4 ha) for development purposes adjacent to what would become known as "Davenport Ranch". The Davenport Ranch development extended from Third Avenue South all the way down to current day Cherry Hill Road (now Wilson Boulevard). There were several other early owners/developers such as Fred Wolden who built homes on 7th Ave SW between First and Second Avenues S., Harry Beattie who bought 4 acres at 122nd Place NW in 1912, Prentice Ladd who purchased 2 lots at 203rd Place NE in 1922 etcetera but it was primarily Davenport who made significant contributions over many years leading up to incorporation date." On October 17th 1925 local businessman Clarence Riggs opened up what would eventually be known as Pacific Electric's Seattle Terminal located at 206th Street SE across from Interstate 5 & Space Needle just south of Chihuly Gardens within sightlines looking out over Elliott Bay & Puget Sound...Riggs leased space inside Terminal @ $5/month with no guarantee thereof so long as he kept 150 watts (the maximum wattage then available) going all night long...After about 6 months Contestant gave away prize worth $10 won @ contest held outside terminal... After about 2 years Contestant leased space inside Terminal @ $10/month with no guarantee thereof so long as he kept 150 watts (the maximum wattage then available) going all night long...After about 6 months Contestant gave away prize worth $20 won @ contest held outside terminal...In 1928Pacific Electric decided not renew their lease due to high rent prices which led candidates #1 thru #6 Jens Petersen & Harry Nelsen Sr., owner(s) & operators(s), each donated their services free&useless until new agreement could be reached" It was during this time that two organizations formed which would have major implications for future events: Home Owners' Association (HOA)/Home Builders League (HBL). Both organizations came together because they saw an opportunity where both could make a tangible impact on society while still enjoying some financial gain: HOA wanted membership rights; HBL wanted access to resources such as power lines and tractors needed for construction projects." For many years after incorporation there were few events or activities taking place aside from meetings conducted by either organization."
