Garrity in 1901 and has been home to many coffee roasters over the years. Some of the most well-known names in Lacey coffee include Peet's Coffee, Allendale Coffee, and Blue Bottle Coffee. The first roasting operation in Lacey was conducted by Dutchman Cornelis Janssen on North Second Street. From this location, Janssen introduced the first true Columbian bean type into America, which resulted in an impressive achievement for his business. In 1916, Johnnie Lowther started operations at 1225 Broadway Avenue and began manufacturing Columbian beans under the name "Johnnie Lowther Coffee." By 1922, Lowther had built up a large enough business to open his own roast shop at 302 Main Street. This location would be known as "Lowther's Beans." In 1928, Harry Wexler opened what would become one of Lacey's most famous coffee stores - The Bean Shop on South First Street. Wexler was a big influence on the development of Oregon Roasting Company (ORC) – which would eventually become Starbucks – and he remains an important figure in that company’s history today. Over time, other prominent local businesses such as The Grain Mill & Bakery added their own brands to ORC’s roster; these days, it is affectionately referred to as “the old school” of caffeine delivery services due to its consistent quality and passionate customer base (read more about it here). Lacey, Washington is a small town in the Puget Sound region of Western Washington. It lies on the banks of the Columbia River, about 30 miles (48 km) north of Seattle and 25 miles (40 km) south of Vancouver. The name means "leather works" in Chinookan. The first European to record Lacey was George Vancouver in 1792 when he visited the area as part of his mapping expedition.

Lacey was founded in 1892 by John and Fannie Lacey. A post office was established in 1893, and remained in operation until it was discontinued in 1907. The community name means "plain ground." Lacey has a rich agricultural history dating back to pioneer times when the area was home to large farms that produced hay, apples, and other crops. In addition to its agricultural heritage, Lacey also has a strong military tradition which can be seen from the many buildings located in the town center such as Fort George Wright National Historic Site and Fort Butte Museum. The first store opened in Lacey on Main Street on October 17, 1893. The store operated for three years before being closed due to low sales levels. In 1896, Harry Winker opened his own grocery store at 411 Main Street and became one of Lacey's early residents. Winker operated his business for over fifty years before he passed away in 1978. In 1905, the Agricultural Experiment Station (now known as USDA) moved from Olympia to Lacey after purchasing land from the State of Washington for $10 per acre . This new facility provided research into various farming methods and allowed farmers throughout Washington state to experiment with new techniques. During their time at Lacey AES scientists developed a variety of fruits and vegetables that are now grown all around the United States including here at home! Lasley Elementary School was built between 1954-1957 within sight of both Fort George Wright National Historic Site & Fort Butte Museum - this building served as school headquarters until 1957 when an annex was built across Long Avenue which still serves as today's elementary school property boundaries!

The town is located on the Snake River and north of Seattle. Lacey is home to two primary schools, one middle school, three libraries, a post office, a Retirement Village and several businesses including two gas stations and a restaurant. Lacey also has an elementary school, which closed in 2006 but reopened as part of the Nisqually School District; it serves grades PK-5th. There are also several private schools in Lacey: Eastern Washington University (a university), South Puget Sound Junior College (a technical college), and James Cook High School which serves students from grades 9-12th. There is also a YMCA which opened in 1957 and continues to serve the community today with programs such as swim/dance/music classes for children as well as adult activities like volleyball and basketball tournaments). The only hospital in town is the Northwest Hospital Health Services Center which provides services such as maternity care, surgery, urgent medical attention, family planning clinics and more.
