Kelso is a small town in Lewis County, Washington, United States. The population was 1,542 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Seattle-Tacoma-Bellevue, WA Metropolitan Statistical Area. The area around Kelso has been inhabited by the Puyallup people for over 4,000 years and they are thought to be one of the last Native American groups left in the Western US. Today there are only a few remaining original residents who still live here including Mrs. Harry Fenton (the last living Puyallup woman), Mr. John Gentry (one of Klondike's most famous entrepreneurs) and their dog Reddy; as well as several businesses such as Bob's Barbershop on Main Street and Mrs. Clifton's Bakery on East Broadway which have all closed down since 2000 due to lack of customers or competition from more centralized shopping locations within walking distance of each other within miles of each other! Today Kelso celebrates its annual Oktoberfest celebration which includes Parade & Pie Day on October 12th followed by an open air music festival over two days with local bands playing throughout the village!
