Maga Coffee is a coffee company located in East Wenatchee, Washington. The company was founded in 1984 by Darrell "Doc" Breslin and Bruce Kapp. Maga beans are grown in the Yakima Valley and roasted here at their headquarters. The first time that I tasted maga coffee was at Doc's house on a warm autumn day. It was delicious! I've since been a regular customer, and have enjoyed every cup of maga coffee that I've had the pleasure of drinking. In addition to its delicious flavor, maga coffee is also environmentally friendly- it is sustainably produced using organic methods. This wonderful product has made such an impact on my life, and has given me many opportunities to learn about different cultures and their lifestyles. I'm grateful for all that maga coffee has done for me- it's truly one of the most unique products I've ever encountered!

East Wenatchee was founded in 1884 by immigrants from Hungary. The town quickly became a center for coffee culture, and the first Starbucks opened in 1999. Coffee houses and cafes have been a popularstay in East Wenatchee since the early 1900s.
The town of East Wenatchee, Washington, is located in the Willamette Valley on the eastern edge of the Cascade Mountains. The town was established in 1881 by Presbyterian missionaries. The population of East Wenatchee was 953 at the 2000 census. East Wenatchee is a small, unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP) located in Snohomish County, Washington. Its zip code is 98201. As of the 2010 census, its population was 857 people. The name "East Wenatchee" may be derived from the early French traders who visited this area in the mid 1700s and named it after a small river that flowed through what is now east Wenatchee County. After arriving in North America, these French traders likely heard about winegrowing operations being conducted along the Columbia River near present-day Yakima and decided to call this area "Wenatchee." This naming change may have occurred because early European explorers believed that wines made from wild grapes would not ferment well within their own countries and so they called these places such as Burgundy or Bordeaux for short - an idea which may have originated with ancient Greece! In any case, over time East Wenatchee became known as "Wenatchee" due to its location and its connection to early European settlers. During World War II, many Japanese nationals living in East Wenatchee were interned at Fort Lewis during 1942–1945 as part of General George Smedley's efforts to control enemy activities within Washoe County. Many Japanese nationals also lived adjacent to Snohomish County along Highway 99E until 1945 when those areas were transferred into Oregon Territory following World War II ended. The history of maga coffee is a long and convoluted one. The origins of the coffee bean are Unknown, but it is thought that the beans were first roasted in Ethiopia. It can be said that the Ethiopian people have been drinking coffee for centuries, and as such, their beans have a rich and unique flavor. In 1954, an Italian entrepreneur named Giancarlo Maggiore decided to start his own company in Ethiopia. He brought with him some of the best Ethiopian beans and started developing this unique coffee style called “Maga Coffee”. This particular brew was popularized by Giancarlo Maggiore and became known as one of the most delicious cups of coffee you can drink. Over time, other entrepreneurs followed Giancarlo Maggiore’s lead and started developing their own variations on this classic espresso-based beverage. Eventually, these different brewers created what we now know as “maga coffees”, which possess a complex flavor profile all its own.
The first coffee was roasted in Guatemala in the early 18th century. Coffee beans were brought overland from Africa and Peru. The first espresso machine was built in Italy in 1795, and the first café opened its doors in Paris in 1796.
In 1872, East Wenatchee was a small community of about seventy people. By 1916 it had grown to over one thousand people and was the largest town in the Wenatchee Valley. The town was founded by five brothers who bought land from the Yakima nation and built a log cabin on the site of what is now theEast Wenatchee Elementary School. The original name for the town was "Wenatchee." The early residents of East Wenatchee were farmers and their families. They raised chickens, pigs, cows, horses, and dogs. In 1916, when most of Boeing Air Force Base's employees moved to Tacoma, Washington duringWorld War I, much of East Wenatchee's population followed suit. Many people in East Wenatchee continue to live there today. One interesting aspect of East Wenatchee history is its relationship with Boeing Air Force Base which has been Changing hands multiple times since it opened in 1945. In 1966 Boeing AFB sent its last military unit to India when that country gained independence from Britain; however, after that period many civilian jobs at Boeing AFB went away as well (and still go). Today about 60% of all aircraft production takes place at or near Boeing Field in Renton WA., making it one of America's major aerospace manufacturers (along with Lockheed Martin)
The area of East Wenatchee, Washington was settled by the Yakama and other Native Americans in the early 1800s. The first European to visit this area was Capt. James Cook in 1792. In 1855, the US government sold land east of Wenatchee River to J.P. Morgan for $5,000 per acre. This purchase increased opportunities for mining and ranching in the region, which led to growth in East Wenatchee over time. In 1907, East Wenatchee became a city after it was approved by voters in an election held that year. The city's population grew rapidly during its early years, reaching more than 50,000 people by 1914. During World War I, East Wenatchee helped support the war effort by housing soldiers and their families as well as supplying food and goods needed by troops on both sides of the conflict. After the war ended, East Wenatchee experienced rapid growth again due to new industry development such as logging and aluminum smelting. Today, East Wenatchee is a busy center for trade and commerce with many businesses located within walking distance of each other. Many residents continue to live close to their jobs while others have chosen longer term lifestyles outside of town because of its vibrant cultural scene or easy access to recreational activities such as skiing or fishing
