At first, the coffee beans that would be grown in Covington were brought over by boat from Java. Then, a small family of farmers began to grow coffee in their backyards. In 1915, they started selling roasted beans and espresso drinks on the side of the road. In 1954, a group of Italian immigrants started a small grocery store in town and soon began importing coffee from Italy. They introduced roasted beans and espresso drinks to Covington residents and started creating their own blends. In 1978, local business man Bob Cook opened his own roastery in town and began grinding fresh beans for his shops and cafes. He also developed a line of artisanal espresso drinks called Bob's Best Coffee. In 1990, he sold his business to two brothers who continued developing the products under the Bob's Best name until 2003 when they merged with another independent roaster, First Star Coffee Company. Since then, Covington has become known as one of the most notable places for artisanal coffee within Washington State. The roasting process is still done by hand using only whole bean materials derived from purest Arabica beans grown onsite in Oregon or Colombia. This allows for a unique flavor profile that cannot be found at other stores or restaurants which use processed foods or blends

The first coffee shop in Covington was started by two brothers, Elijah and Ebenezer, in 1875. The business was known as the Coffee Shopper. In 1912, the coffee house became the Hub Cafe and continued to be run by the same family until 1951. In 1966, a new coffee shop opened up in Covington called The Coffee House. It was run by Mr. and Mrs. John Witherspoon for over thirty years until they retired in 2006. Since then, there have been many changes to the coffee scene in Covington. In 2013, The Coffee House closed down after more than twenty years of operation. However, another coffee shop called Roasters & Geeks reopened on November 25th of that year with a focus onartisan coffee products from around the world!
Covington is a town in King County, Washington, United States. The population was 2,827 as of the 2010 census. The name is derived from the French words " Couvrez ", meaning to cover or protect. Although founded by Scandinavian immigrants in 1851 as a small farming community named Crawfordville, Covington grew rapidly due to its strategic location at the junction of two major wagon roads and its access to water supplies. In 1883, Covington became the county seat of King County after it was chosen over Seattle. The first post office in Covington opened on November 3, 1881. The town grew rapidly and soon had a school, jail and other public facilities. By 1910 Covington had a population of 10,000 people and was home to several businesses such as lumberyards and fabric stores. In 1916 when World War I began, many U.S.-based companies sent their employees away for military service; among them were American Telephone & Telegraph (AT&T) which built its main line through town during this time period; Boeing Airplane Company; Western Electric Corporation; General Motors Corporation; Bethlehem Steel Corporation; Jardine Halt Limited Passenger Terminal Company Ltd.; Empire Rubber & Rubber Products Ltd.; Bechtel Engineering Corporation; Plastics International Incorporated (); Allis-Chalmers Manufacturing Company (); Curtiss-Wright Aeronautical Division (); Hughes Aircraft Co., ltd.; National Broadcasting System (NBC); King County Water District (). During World War II many B-17 Flying Fortress bombers were Built at Boeing Field in Bellevue while other planes were built at Renton's Paine Field but they all crashed there except one that finally flew into space on July 16th 1945 called "Eagle" belonging to McDonnell Aircraft Co., Inc.. On December 5th 1941 Japan attacked Pearl Harbor with their newest type of submarine known as "Kaga" which sunk three Allied ships including USS Arizona resulting in the death of more than 1 thousand sailors including most of Captain Yamamoto's staff officers aboard ship making her easily the largest naval defeat ever mounted by any side against an enemy navy

Covington is a small town in Richland County, Washington, United States. The population was 2,636 at the 2010 census. Covington is the smallest community in Richland County and it is also one of the youngest communities in the county. The name "Covington" comes from an early settler named John Covington who founded a farm there in 1834. The first post office in Covington was established on February 15, 1875. The present day post office building was built in 1906 and is still in use today. In 1924, the first school district in Richland County was formed from parts of two previous districts. That same year, the first church was built near Center Street and Main Avenue. Today there are three churches located within walking distance of each other - First Baptist Church (founded 1893), United Methodist Church (founded 1902), and Christ Chapel (founded 1909). One of Covington's most famous residents is entrepreneur Roy Rogers who resided there for many years before moving to his current home at 7600 Mapleview Drive NE. He started his own radio station KSJO-AM 570 kHz here which he continued to operate until 1998 when he sold it to KIRO-TV Seattle. Rogers has also been known for his "Roy Rogers' Ranch" TV show that aired here from 1951-1976 and again from 1981-1997; as well as many other products including agricultural items such as cattle and soybeans which he moved to America from China during World War II
