In 1934 Captain John Averell Stevenson passed away and his son John Averell Stevenson II took over ownership ofthe store from father John Averell Stevenson I (1886-1964). During World War IICaptain Stevenson operated an armaments manufacturing plant located on 2 acres outsideof Bremerton which produced munitions for both Pacific theater and European allies alike. Even thoughStevenson Gun Shop closed during World War II due to wartime restrictions on firearm sales by commercial businesses, its legacy lives on today as one ofBremertontown’s most popular tourist attractions due to its historical significance alone!

The company had been organized earlier that year and was led by Harry Fenton who had purchased the business from his father-in-law Daniel Grosse Sr.. Roscoe Aiken was appointed Manager of Grosse Pointe Wines and Liquors Company which he held until his death on November 14th 1926. On January 1st 1927 Pabst Brewing Corporation announced their location adjacent to the Grosse Pointe Winery having bought all rights to produce Pabst beer in Kitsap County for $1 per barrel!
