The National Guard in Bonney Lake, Washington is one of the oldest and most iconic organizations in the state. The National Guard has been present in Bonney Lake since 1907. The first organized unit of the National Guard was a detachment from the Stevens County Sheriff's Office. The detachment was called the "Bonney Lake Rangers" and served for about a year. In 1911, Bonney Lake became part of Snohomish County and the Sheriff's office detachment changed their name to the "National Guardsmen of Snohomish County". In 1912, there were also detachments from Kittitas County (now Clark county) and Pierce county (now Thurston). In 1917, King George V granted an order authorizing coats of arms to be created for all units of the National Guard in each U.S. State. The first unit insignia were designed by Colonel John Waddell and First Lieutenant Clarence Sowell Jr.. On September 24, 1922, President Warren G Harding signed an act placing all military forces under control of a single commander - General Douglas MacArthur - Director of Military History Section Army War College at Fort Leavenworth Kansas Territory Headquarters on November 16th 1922 as part of his general plan for reorganization after World War I which included establishment of national guard sections throughout every state army department headed by generals with combat experience or members thereof who had retired from active duty service due to ill health or other reasons not connected with war service- See Joint Resolution No 897 passed December 2nd 1921 . On January 1st 1923 all military forces were placed within theaterofwar command which was then known as United States Army Forces Northwest Command which consisted onlyof The National Guard armories at Leavenworth Kansa Territory Headquarters including that now used by The Washington State Defense Federation From its earliest days until today, when it is composed almost entirely out-of-state volunteers from across this country who answer to no one but our Commander-in-Chief and shield us during times we cannot otherwise defend ourselves--the Washington State Defense Federation (WSDF) national guard has always been more than just another organization; it has always been something special!

Bonney Lake is a town in Stevens County, Washington, United States. The population was 1,821 at the 2010 census. Bonney Lake is located on the eastern edge of the Snohomish County seat of Wenatchee. The first Europeans to visit what is now Bonney Lake were fur traders from Russia and Alaska in 1811-12. They named it after Captain John Bonney who had been killed during a hunting expedition near Yakutat Island on July 21, 1811. A post office called Bonney Lake was established in 1867, and remained in operation until 1959. The community took its name from Ulysses S. Grant Woodbury (1828-1910), an early settler and deputy sheriff of Stevens County who was also mayor of Wenatchee from 1865 to 1870 and again from 1880 to 1890. The townsite at present-day Bonney Lake was platted as part of the Wenatchee Townsite Plan dated December 12, 1877 by commissioners Joseph Murchison and George Leland Beall. The land for the town was donated by merchant James Bicknell Sr., one of the original incorporators of Wenatchee Township.

Bonney Lake is located in the Kittitas Valley of central Washington and has been inhabited by the Hohokam for over 4,000 years. The first white person to live in what is now Bonney Lake was Capt. George Vancouver, who explored the region in 1792. In 1847, Oregon Territory was created from parts of British Columbia and Washington Territory was organized as a result. The population of Bonney Lake increased rapidly during this time and by 1870 it had reached 2,500 people. In 1881, the United States acquired land east of Bonney Lake in what is now Yakima County and formed Yakima Indian Reservation. This move caused significant tension between settlers on both sides of the border and led to some fighting throughout the early years of Yakima County. With increasing development within Bonney Lake and its vicinity, however, tensions began to dissipate. On October 1, 1948, federally designated Hatfield-Robertson Wildlife Refuge was established at present-day Bonney Lake after a decades long effort by conservationists working with the U.S Fish & Wildlife Service under then-Director James Aiken. The refuge functions as a nature preserve that contains more than 170 miles (291 kilometers) of streams and 10 miles (16 kilometers) of lakeside hiking trails through forested hillsides along its length. Today, Hatfield-Robertson Wildlife Refuge remains an important part of Yakima County’s economy due to its many tourist attractions including bonny lake state park which offers fishing trips for all ages year round; multiple cabin resorts that offer Recreational Fishing licenses for those looking to take their vacation fishing trip off THE MAP; as well as several small businesses providing goods and services related to hunting or trapping within hatfields-robertson wildlife refuge boundaries
