The coffee shop was started by three friends who pooled their money and bought a truck to drive to various stores and start selling coffee. The first store they sold coffee from was at the old Hecht’s Department Store on First Avenue. They also served caffeine-packed hot dogs for lunch during their early days. The popularity of coffee spread quickly throughout Bonney Lake and soon other towns in King County. In 1978, the first Java Joint Coffee Shop opened up in southBonney Lake and became one of the most popular local spots for people to enjoy a cup of Joe. Today, Java Joint Coffee Shop is still open and serving up delicious java every day! In 1984, two brothers named Harry and Dan found an abandoned building that had been used as a carwash by their father. They startedown business called Harry’s Car Wash which has been operating continuously in Bonney Lake since then!Today Harry’s Car Wash is one of the most popular businesses in town with over twenty-five years of operations! In 1992, Starbucks opened its doors to Bonney Lake residents! The store originally operated out of an old movie theater on Second Avenue but due to high demand they moved into a more permanent location within months! Starbucks continues to be one of the biggest attractions in town today and continues to grow each year!

Bonney Lake is a small town located in the state of Washington. The population was 2,996 at the 2010 census. Bonney Lake is named for John F. Bonney, a congressman from Oregon who served in the United States House of Representatives from 1957 to 1961 and again from 1965 to 1971. The community was settled in 1883 by George Prentice and his family. In 1906, the community became part of King County and was renamed Bonney Lake after John F. Bonney's death that year. The first post office opened in 1908 and closed in 1914. The first store opened in 1912 and continued to serve until it closed in 1958. In 1953, the commune was merged into the larger city of Seattle; however, a few residents have maintained their owncommunity newspaper which continues publication today (the "Bonney Lake Tribune"). The local economy depends on agriculture, forestry, fishing, retail trade, and tourism; however, recent technological advances have allowed for an increase in transportation-related businesses such as online shopping malls and auto dealerships within walking distance of bonny lake

Bonney Lake is a small community in the north-central part of Washington, United States. The community was named after General George Bonney, who fought in the War of 1812. The post office at Bonney Lake was established on October 15, 1870, and served until it was discontinued on February 1, 1912. The community has a population of about 2,500 people as of 2017. It is home to Learning Annex Elementary School and town hall. Bonney Lake began as a trading post located along the Snake River. In 1855, General George Bonney established himself here as a military commander during the War of 1812. He built his estate here and became known as "theFather of Bonney Lake." Over time, other veterans from the war settled in this area including David Henry Cowan and Lewis Brisbin. In 1907, the first school building was constructed in Bonny lake by Mrs. Anna Burchfield Sellers. In 1916, when World War I ended with America's entry into that war on April 6th (the day before Columbian Exposition opened), most businesses closed because there were no orders coming in for munitions production due to wartime restrictions set by Congress that applied only to Britain and France at that time. However, Mrs.'Anna Burchfield Sellers continued to operate her school while all her neighbors gathered their belongings and left for good on Saturday evening November 8th 1916—eleven days after America entered World War I without warning anyone! That’s how our predecessor- today’s Learning Annex Elementary School got its name: “Mrs.]Anna Burchfield Sellers kept open every day of war even though so many others did not”!
Bonney Lake was founded in 1892 by J.D. Bonney and his family as a small community on the southern tip of Lake Washington. The town grew quickly, and by 1912 it had a population of over 500 people. In 1916, Bonney Lake became the first village in King County to be incorporated, and it continued to grow until its incorporation into the City of Seattle in 1925. Bonney Lake’s growth slowed during World War II, but resumed afterward due to increased housing demand in the area. In 1978, Bonney Lake merged with neighboring Cottage Grove to form the current city of Bonney Lake-Cottage Grove.
