This paper will discuss the history of guns in Battle Ground, Washington. In 1916, BattleGround hired its very owngunsmith who produced handguns for use by the police department and local businesses. After World War I ended with America’s entry into World War II, BattleGround experienced an increasein demand for handguns due to wartime bombingsand skirmishes between military forces throughout Washington state (the so-called “Gun Wars”). During peacetime however,Armed Forces personnel usually only needed pistols or revolvers for self-defense purposes rather than weapons that could be used offensively against civilians or insurgents (eagine a soldier holding a Glock pistol vs someone trying to take away his weapon). Battle Ground is a town in Lewis County, Washington, United States. The population was 1,728 at the 2010 census. It is located on the north side of the Yakima River. The town was founded by soldiers from Fort Spokane and named for Major General George Washington's battle ground at Princeton, New Jersey. The first settler in Battle Ground was John Grist who bought land in 1824. A post office called Battle Ground was established in 1827, and remained in operation until it closed in 1907. In 1837, an act was passed Congress recognizing Indian Nations' ownership of lands west of the Cascade Mountains as part of the Oregon Territory. This led to a conflict between white settlers and Native Americans over who would have control over this land. In 1840, three men were killed when their wagon got stuck on a rise near present-day Battle Ground; this event is considered to be one of the earliest incidents of violence between settlers and Indians in what would become Washington State. Aftermath of that conflict led to many settlements being built aroundBattleGround including Otter Creek (1843), Holyoke (1845), Princeton (1847), North Bend(1849), Cherryville(1851), Washougal (18 53) and Moses Lake( 1855). In 1850s there were also several mills built along the Yakima River which supported both local farmers and outlying traders The towns growth continued through mid 1800s with more people moving into them due to new opportunities created bythe Gold Rush era beginning around that time throughout most Western US

The Battle of Battle Ground took place on November 3rd, 1803 in what is now Arlington County, Virginia. The battle was fought between a British force under General John Forbes and American forces under Major General George Washington. Washington's army consisted of over 50,000 soldiers and sailors while Forbes' force numbered only 10 officers and 300 men. Despite being outnumbered four-to-one, Washington managed to kill or capture most of Forbes' unit before turning around and fleeing back into Canada.
