Christianburg is a town in Loudoun County, Virginia, United States. The population was 9,845 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Fairfax County metropolitan area. After years of struggle by residents to gain civil rights through peaceful protests and lawsuits culminated with passage of a local ordinance granting African Americans voting rights in 1957, this change signaled a turning point for Christianity burg which slowly began integrating into black society A new shopping center was built near Capitol Place Mall in 1995 which helped revitalize downtown Christianburg and increase retail sales activity Downtown Christianburg experienced another growth spurt beginning around 2007 with development of several high-end restaurants including Capital Grille and The Capital Grille Express
