The history of the Coast Guard in North Salt Lake, Utah goes back to 1875. At that time, the town was known as “Port Townsend” because it was the port for goods coming into and leaving the Centerville area. The first Coast Guard detachment in North Salt Lake was organized on November 6th, 1875. It consisted of a Sergeant and 11 sailors from boat No. 521. The first patrol along what is now State Route 191 took place on December 1st, 1875. From that date through to 1922, there were no interceptions at sea or on land during those first few years. In 1922, when the United States Customs Service opened its own customs office in North Salt Lake, the Coast Guard began interceptions at sea and ashore as part of their duties as customs enforcement agents. That same year saw the establishment of Station Hajihela (later named Station Lee) which became responsible for all land seizures by the Customs Service in northern Utah County including north-central Salt Lake City as well as parts of Weber County and Logan County. station Lee remained operational until 1976 when it was closed due to budget cuts within the Coast Guard Reserve program. Since then, numerous other stations have been established throughout Utah County while still others have been moved to new locations or eliminated altogether due to changing needs or budgetary restrictions within our service organization

North Salt Lake, Utah is a city in Cache County, Utah, United States. The population was 27,676 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Cache County. North Salt Lake is adjacent to Logan and Sandy Hook in Logan County. The land that would become North Salt Lake was first settled by Mormons in 1847 during their wagon drive from Nauvoo to Winter Quarters (now Omaha). A town site was surveyed and laid out by Captain John Sutter in 1851 but it was abandoned due to bad weather and lack of settlers. In 1864 Brigham Young organized the Utah Territory and named it North Salt Lake after his headquarters at Nanking (now Beijing), China. At the same time he assigned General George Custer to lead an effort to find new land for the Mormon colony in what is now Wyoming. After crossing the Great Plains on their way north, Latter-day Saints discovered salt flats on May 4, 1868 near present-day Provo, UT while exploring for a new home for their people. On October 16 of that year Brigham Young announced that all pioneers west of Missouri were welcome to come eastward into what had been called Utah territory but only if they could prove they were following Jesus Christ as His true representative on Earth; those who did not meet this criterion were forced back westward into Missouri under martial law until November 9th when President Kimball issued a proclamation admitting them into the Territory with full rights as citizens thereof without having to leave their homes or carry any equipment with them except rifles and shotguns which could be transported overland across open country
The coast guard has a long and proud history of providing support to the maritime community. From the early 1800s when they were first created, Coast Guard gifts have been an important part of their operations. In 2017 alone, donors gave $1 million in gift money to help support coastal security initiatives. This year’s recipient is the USS John C. Stennis (DDG-98). The ship was donated by Captain Rick Majerus in memory of his father who served as a Petty Officer First Class with the Coast Guard from 1966-1978. As America’s largest seagoing military service, the Coast Guard plays an important role in both national defense and maritime security. Their donation this year is testimony to their dedication to these causes while also honoring Captain Majerus’ fatherhood and service within the ranks of the Coast Guard. We are grateful forCaptain Majerus’ generous donation which will help improve coastal safety across America!

North Salt Lake is a city in Utah, United States. It was founded in 1847 as the first town in what would become the state of Utah. North Salt Lake is located on the north side of the Great Salt Lake, which forms the border between Davis County and Box Elder County. The population was 21,715 at the 2010 census. The primary industry of North Salt Lake is manufacturing services; it produces electrical equipment, cars, appliances and other products. Other major sources of income include agriculture (especially cotton), real estate development, retail trade and professional services. There are also small businesses that provide services such as home-building or pet-sitting. The City of North Salt Lake was incorporated on February 15, 1847 by twelve residents from Davis County who were dissatisfied with south Jordan's claim to be the new capital of Utah Territory. The original plat for NorthSaltLake included all present-day Davis County except for part of Box Elder County which would later be added to Provo Valley School District #1 In 1853 when Brigham Young moved his headquarters from Nauvoo to Provo he ordered that all townships be divided into counties and that NorthSaltLake should become county seat for Cache Valley District #2 In 1861 Cache Valley became part of Logan County while Bennington proper remained within Davis Countysphere until 1959 when it became an incorporated municipality subject to Logan County government
In 1847, Brigham Young and a small group of Mormons walked from Nauvoo, Illinois to the Salt Lake Valley in search of a new home. The area now known as North Salt Lake was part of the same land that was claimed by the Mormon pioneers.
