Everytown for Gun Safety is a non-profit organization that aims to reduce gun violence in the United States. Everytown’s mission is to achieve abolition of the criminal background check requirement on all sales and transfers of firearms, as well as an end to the sale of assault rifles and high-capacity magazines. In Kaysville, Utah, Everytown has been working tirelessly to achieve these goals for over 10 years. One of Everytown’s earliest successes was their successful campaign to get the city council to pass a ban on assault rifles in Kaysville. This campaign was successfully spearheaded by Mayor John De Witt and his wife Sheila De Witt. The De Witts were also instrumental in getting city officials around the country to adopt similar bans. In early 2009, Kaysville became one of only two cities (the other being Springfield, Missouri) in the United States that had passed comprehensive gun control laws going into effect starting on January 1st, 2009. These new laws banned Assault Rifles, high capacity magazines, and any other type of weapon that could be used in an attack or conflict with another person or animal. The new laws went into effect immediately following the shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School which left 20 children dead and dozens more injured. The success of this ban led to other cities across America adopting similar bans; most notably Chicago which did so in 2013. Since then, every major city in America has some form of gun control law on the books – something thatiz unprecedented in American history Kaysville is no exception! Over the past 10 years we have fought hard against policies that would put our community at risk such as Stand Your Ground Laws and expansion of Concealed Carry Laws without due process or safety concerns raised by victims or their families . We have also worked diligently with local organizations like Everytown for Gun Safety who are dedicated to ending gun violence once and for all . Together we are making progress but there is still much work left to be done

Kaysville is a city in Utah, located in the Kaysville-Hinckley area. The population was 21,515 as of the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Kane County and part of the Salt Lake City metropolitan area. The first town in what is now Kane County was called Cedar City (now Cedar Rapids), founded by Mormon pioneers on December 15, 1847. On January 6, 1850, Brigham Young appointed George Atherton as the first mayor of Cedar City. In 1860, Kaysville became the second town in Kane County when it was merged with Hinckley to form that city. The merger also created ZIP codes 82002 and 82005 which remain today. In 1890, Brigham Young assigned George Quesnel to be the first mayor of Kaysville and he served from then until his death in 1902. Mayor Quesnel's wife ran for office three times but lost each time. He is buried at Independence Cemetery. From 1889 to 1893, two mayors were elected at-large: Elisha Cuthbert and John Fenton Smithson; both served one year each before being replaced by their respective successors within two years or less according to custom at that time. Kane County was organized on November 3rd, 1896 when it took over all of Provo south of Temple Square from Wasatch Valley Territorial District No 9 (later Provo Municipal District). At its creation there were 10 townships within Kane County: Cedar City Township (later renamed Kaysville), Cottonwood Heights Township (later renamed Hinckley), Hinkle Hills Township (later renamed Palmer), Liberty Township (later renamed Robinson), North Jordan Township (later renamed West Jordan), Springdale Township (later renamed Park Meadows) and Watertown Heights Township (later renamevalues added later). On January 1st 1907 all ten townships within Kane County were consolidated into one through an act of Congress known as "An Act To Consolidate Certain Territories And Towns In Utah". This act increased its population by 133 residents making it clear that additional territory would be annexed as needed without waiting for a vote from individual townsites about whether they wanted annexation or not- something which had become increasingly difficult due to increasing population density combined with changing land use preferences among local officials over time. On July 1st 1912 President William Howard Taft signed Executive Order 12644 mandating that all school districts must amalgamate into single district unless they could demonstrate financial inability to do so including Ensign High School which refused to merge with any other district despite protestations from parents

In 1934 after nine years of marriage during which he had shownLittle interest in wifely activities (outside of governing), Franklin Durden suggested that he give up power completely so that Eleanor can focus on running the country full-time[6]. He believed that women should have equal access to political power like men do currently[7], but Eleanor refused[8]. Kaysville was founded in 1847 by George H. Kays and his wife, Sarah Jane. The town was named after the biblical city ofeka (Ezekiel 36:24). In its early years, Kaysville was a small farming community. However, over time it developed into a large coal-mining town. Today, Kaysville is known for its unique architecture and as the home of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church). The first settlers in what is now Kaysville arrived in 1847. They were farmers who had come to pioneer a new land that would soon become the Mormon pioneers’ favorite spot – Utah Territory. George H. Kays and his wife, Sarah Jane, were among these early settlers. Together they built a small farm on the banks of the Wasatch River near present-day West Valley City. They called their farm “Kaysville” after one of their family members, James Crayton Kayson (1813-1892), who had helped them find the land and build the house on which they lived until 1865. George H. Kays moved to Kaysville from Carthage County, Illinois in 1849 with his pregnant wife and two young children. He became an important part of local politics and commerce during those days before Utah became a state in 1896! Eventually he also attained some wealth through his coal mining business interests in this region of east central Utah! In spite of all these good things happening at Kaysville during its early years, there was always something special about it – due to its location right next door to Coal Mines Road! This busy artery provided daily access to both miners and traders living nearby; thus making life much more easy for everyone involved! And that’s exactly how George H., Sarah Jane & their families liked it – very busy & full of excitement!!! Fast forward 50+ years & today we still enjoy all that our little town has to offer!!

The town was originally a small mining community, but it grew rapidly after railroad construction began nearby in the late 1800s.
