In 1865, Seabrook became part of Fort Worth and experienced some growth until a fire destroyed most of the buildings in 1907. Since then, there have been only few attempts at redevelopment or new construction within the limits of Seabrook. There are no businesses currently operating within the boundaries of the town and there is no public transportation available to visitors. Today, much of what used to beSeabrook is still uninhabitable as a result of the fire that destroyed most of it in 2007-2008. However, there are some small patches remaining where people live scattered around rural areas outside of Fort Worth County.

In addition to its role as an agricultural center it also has been home to several high school football teams that have made it into state championships over the years including:the 1916 “Green Gables” team who became Lone Star Conference Champions (now Southland Conference Champions), 1950 “Prairie Knights” who advanced to Level III play before folding due to World War II; 2002 “Swingin’ Bluejays” who reached the Class 5A State Finals before falling 17-3 against Wichita Falls; 2006 “Timberwolves” who were semifinalists in both 2007 (when they lost again) and 2008 before claiming their first Class 7A State Championship game against Angelo when they defeated him 35-3 in overtime; 2009 “Cowboys” who won their first ever state championship against Angelo 36-35 after leading 31-7 at halftime en route to capturing their second state title overall under head coach Donny Brownell As well as this high level amateur competition there are also many professional teams that have played in or come close to playing here throughout history include NFL players like defensive back Epke Bernadette(Oviedo), safety Rashaan Melvin(Rosedale) and kicker Matt Bryant(Lone Star)among others while more recent examples include USL club Austin Aztex which made it all the way up until playoffs last year before being ousted by eventual champions FC Dallas
The Seabrook community is located in the eastern portion of McKinney County, Texas. The town was founded in 1887 by men from Logansport, Indiana. It was named for General James Seabrook, a Union general who fought in the Mexican-American War and served as United States Minister to Spain. The first post office was established in 1888, and the first store opened in 1889. In 1906, the population of Seabrook reached 1,500 people.
