When the Rome, Texas rifle range opened in 1912, many shooters in the area were impressed by the new rifles. The Roma Rifle Company was founded by a man named John Rome and his wife Clara. They imported exotic rifle models such as the Winchester Model 1892 and .30-06 Springfield from England. Their rifles were well-made and reliable, but they were not cheap to purchase or maintain. Gunsmiths who worked for Roma Manufacturing would often “repair” broken firearms for customers. Over time, these gunsmiths became known as “Romeo” men because of their skill at restoring old firearms. In 1918, Romeo Manfrotto built a custom rifle workshop just outside of Rome that specialized in repairing and maintaining shotguns, pistols, and rifles. It is said that no other company could compare to Romeo Manfrotto’s skills when it came to firearm repair work. In 1939, Italy entered World War II and all sportsmen had to register with the government in order to buy arms or ammunition. This made it difficult for people in America to get their hands on weaponsuch as sniper rifles or machine guns. However, Romeo Manfrotto still managed to sell some of his shotguns and pistols into Italian military arsenals during the war years. After the war ended, he reopened his shop and continued selling firearms into the present day!

Roma is a city in Midland County, Texas, United States. It was founded in 1887 by Italian immigrants who had come to the area as railroad workers. The population of Roma was 914 at the 2010 census. As of 2019, the population of Roma was estimated to be 1,836. The first Romani people to live in what is now Midland County arrived from northern Italy in 1847-48 aboard the "Diana". They were soon followed by other groups, including Poles and Slovaks. By 1870, there were over 100 Romani families living in Midland County. During that time period, Romani businesses included bakeries and grocery stores; also banks and unions (the first Romani American political party). In 1916–17, during World War I – which saw a large influx of Italians into America – many of the Romani men drafted into the military joined forces with local German troops and fought on opposite sides. This led to tension between the two groups; additionally, some Italian Americans felt they had been wronged by their compatriots who had chosen to fight for Germany while others argued that those same individuals could have easily avoided war if they simply abstained fromCombat. Ultimately outputof combat serviceby both groups was minimal due to language barriers and poor transportation infrastructure connecting different regions within America at that time which hindered communication between units stationed near each other on battlefields across Europe (). In 1951–1952, following decolonization of Africa through Operation Passage To Freedom*, Roma residents residing in Midland County petitioned U.S. President Harry Truman for citizenship rights because they considered themselves part of an ethnic group mandated by European colonialism but not underrepresented within American society as a whole (despite making up only 2% of U.S.-born citizens). In response to this request*, Truman issued Executive Order 9065 granting full citizenship status*to all African Americans regardless of residency or ancestry (a precedent later followed with Latino Americans). As part Southerners generally did not originate from Italy or Northern Europe but ratherigrated directly from Ireland/Scotland/England*, so significant numbers hail from Eastern Tennessee among others*. accordingly* Citizenship formalization also helpedtointegrate these new arrivals more seamlessly into American society *.
