The history of the Red Oak Shooter Gift Shop dates back to the early 1920s. When John and Marge Paddock opened their business, they were pioneers in the gift-giving industry. At that time, it was unheard of for people to give away goods they didn't own. They were so successful that they decided to open a second shop, in another city, but quickly realized that they couldn't keep up with the demand. So they closed their businesses and returned home to start their own store. In 1948, Red Oak Shooter Gift Shop reopened under new ownership and continued serving the community until it closed in 1984. During its time as a family-owned business, Red Oak Shooter Gift Shop helped create a tradition of giving back to our community by stocking local products and supporting local charities. In honor of its legacy, we have honored some of Red Oak Shooter's biggest supporters over the years: The Texas A&M Aggie Corps; The Salvation Army; The Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Houston; and The American Cancer Society.

The town was named after theoak tree that grew near their home. In 1850, Red Oak became the county seat of Grayson County. In 1907, Red Oak amalgamated with Willacy County to form Liberty County.
Red Oak is a small town in eastern Texas, about 25 miles (40 km) south of Houston. The population was 1,547 at the 2010 census. It is the only municipality in Red Oak County and part of the Houston-The Woodlands-Sugar Land Metropolitan Statistical Area. The community's name comes from the oak trees that are found there. Red Oak was founded by Texans who wanted to named their new home "Oaktown." However, they were met with resistance because no one had ever heard of this place before. So they changed their minds and decided to name their town "Red Oaks" after an old Mexican general whose family had owned land in what is now Red Oak County for centuries. The first store in Red Oak opened its doors in 1873, just six years after Texas became a state. By 1905, when oil was discovered offshore, more than 100 businesses had sprung up around Red Oak; many remain today including several banks and schools. In 1923, the city fathers designated a park along Elm Street as "Red Oaks Park" in memory of those who had helped make Red Oak such an important center of local commerce and culture during its early years. Today, Red Oaks remains an incredibly vibrant community filled with friendly people who enjoy spending time outdoors – whether shopping or simply enjoying a day at home or workaday activity like playing golf or going out for ice cream on a hot day! Red Oak, Texas is a town located in Wise County, Texas, United States. It was founded in 1836 by parents of the current town name and settler James W. Redding. The town was named for a tree that grew near the original site of its incorporation. The first post office was established in 1837 and it moved to its present location in 1859. In 1901, Red Oak became the capital of Wise County. Red Oak's history begins with James W. Redding who settled in what is now Red Oak Township in 1836 when he and his family arrived from Massachusetts via boat on the Brazos River. According to one story, Mr. Redding saw an orange tree growing on a bluff overlooking the river and decided to name his new settlement after this fruit because "he had never seen anything like it before". Another account claims that when Mr. Redding met some Texans who were fleeing Mexican rule they told him about a place called Cedar Creek where they could find wood for their fires (which would later be used for heating homes). After traveling all around Texas looking for suitable land he discovered enough suitable acreage at Cedar Creek to establish hisown township – White Sands Township – within six months of arriving here! However, due to Indian attacks during much of this time there were very few settlements made within White Sands Township itself; only two houses were built until 1840 when another group of settlers selected this location as their permanent home! The early years of what would become Red Oak Town were difficult due partly to unavailability of water but also because many pioneers lacked experience or proper tools so preliminary construction such as walls, fences and roadblocks took many months! Despite these challenges Fortunato Vignale - a native Italian immigrant who had worked as an assessor for General Sam Houston - donated 2 acres (0 hectares) towards building a school which opened its doorsennial September 12th1839! After just one year white teachers Corner Hawkins & Mrs Murray joined them soon after teaching three classes each day earning $3 per week! By 1840 more than twenty students were enrolled including seven girls enrolling together from Cherokee Nation under instruction from Miss Anna Broughton – daughter of President John Quincy Adams! Although furnishings and equipment was not yet available at this level most students did manage to learn how to read & write using simple materials brought over with them from America!. Despite being smalltown locals often interacted with larger counterparts such as Fort Worth or Dallas through horse-drawn wagons making deliveries or visiting businesses along Main Street; both trips taking anywhere from 1-2 hours depending on traffic conditions! Daily services included market basket picking up produce at local farmers markets while men constructed ‘old’ style log churches/Methodist Episcopal chapels dating back to 1830s serving society’s earliest needs such as funerals etcetera!. At one point Reverend Samuel Hinson united Methodist Episcopal Church #2 alongside Presbyterian Church #1 located just off US Highway 6 east side into what would become known today as Willis Chapel Complex; both churches having been dedicated December 15th1840!? In 1841 mail service began between Orange City (now Cleburne) TX & San Antonio TX however due largelyto lackof funds A Post Office Act became necessary providing Eddy Postmaster Denton Chisolm with 3 seed boxes filled with 1 pound (45 grams) postage stamps each containing 5¢ red oak chips!!! This act allowed citizens throughout the state (& country!) access To send letters, packages & even goods by airmail!! Finally ATelephone line went live allowing conversations between friends living 3 miles apart without ever havingTo meet face-to-face!!!!! Although Early Telephone Service Wasn't Perfect Line wasn't Operated By Phone Company OwnedBy MenOnly Letters Were Sent And Package Received !!!!!
