The Marines of the 2nd Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment deployed a gift history in Chickasha, Oklahoma on December 12th. The battalion's MCR-3 amphibious assault vehicle was decorated with a plaque recognizing the unit's service in Operation Iraqi Freedom. The gift history also included a free tank parking lot for the troops and their families at Camp Pendleton.

This pattern continued until the early 21st century when Development began happening all around us like never before not just within our own town limits but also adjoining towns such as Jenks and Haskell while other small towns shrunk or died without any real impact to our way of life or economy Historian have even gone so far as to call it "The Dying Of A Community". It wasn't until after Katrina hit that many people finally realized we were in trouble and started trying do something about it unlike most communities where everything just stopped once the storm hit They say if you want something done well ask a busybody how they did it first because chances are good they had no idea what they were asking for let alone doing anything about it! So what we're seeing here in Chickasha is pretty much history repeating itself with very few changes taking place except for maybe names changed or new residents moving in but ultimately what's left behind are memories, stories,Oklahoma culture and history
