Since the early 1800s, Twinburg has been a major center of military deployment. From World War II through present day, the town has seen a number of deployments that have had an impact on its residents and businesses. In 1942, Twinsburg was the site of one of the largest mobilization exercises in history. The event involved more than 50,000 people from across Ohio and Kentucky. It was part of President Roosevelt’s effort to get America ready for war. In 1957, Twinsburg became home to the Chemical Corps Dugway Proving Ground. This location served as a testing ground for new weapons and technology during World War II and later into the Cold War. The Dugway Proving Ground closed in 1993 but its legacy lives on in terms of military deployments that have took place there. For example, in 2006, Twinberg participated in Operation Neptune’s Spear, which was an invasion attempt by Iraq against Kuwait. Later that year, Twinburg hosted Exercise Saber Strike III which involved United States Marines using live ammunition against targets inside Iraqi territory. And finally in November 2017, Twinburgh joined forces with other towns around central Ohio to participate in Patriot Day Parade events throughout Stark County celebrating our country’sMilitary History Month!

Twinburg, Ohio is a small town located in Medina County, Ohio. The population was 1,582 at the 2000 census and 1,663 at the 2010 census. The two towns are adjacent and share a common ZIP code of 46810. They were both founded in 1871 by Methodists. The community is named for two twin brothers who lived there before moving to other areas of Medina County. John Wetherbee and James Wetherbee founded Twinburg in 1871 as a Methodist settlement on the banks of the Muskingum River. The community was initially called Westfield but it was changed to Twinburg after John's brother James moved there from Newark, Delaware. Twinburg has been home to many manufacturing companies over its history including National Lead Company (now JBS), United States Rubber Co., My Brother’s Keeper Tractors, and American Weighing Machine CO. In recent years, however, the town has become more diverse with several new businesses opening up such as H&M Stores and Dunkin' Donuts restaurants. The local school system includes three elementary schools (K-6), one middle school (7-8), one high school (9-12), and one postsecondary institution (Ohio Northern University). There are also several church denominations represented in Twinburg with approximately 60% being Protestant while 30% is Catholic and 10% Muslim or Hindu/Judaic affiliation according to the 2000 census data.

Twinburg is an unincorporated community in Muskingum County, Ohio, United States. It lies east of the village of Athens on the Scioto River. The post office was established at Twinburg in 1875, and remained in operation until it was discontinued in 1959.
The town of Twinsburg was founded in 1836 by John and Martha Anna Smith. It was named for their twin children, John and Peggy Anna. The Smiths were the first settlers in the area, and they started a grocery store and land grant business. By 1840, the town had a population of about 160 people. In 1865, the Ohio General Assembly designated Twinsburg as a city. The city was incorporated on December 12, 1867.
