Twinsburg is a city in Medina County, Ohio, United States. The population was 20,723 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Medina County and the home to the Twinsburg Air National Guard Base. The City of Twinsburg was organized on July 1, 1827, from parts of Miami Township and Grandview Township. The original site for Twinburg was on what is now Elmira Road. The name "Twinburg" came about because two brothers were fighting over a chicken coup when they saw each other coming down Elmira Road from a farm house that belonged to their parents. They quickly agreed to truce and called each other "twin". When Columbus founded the town of Delaware in 1811 he named it after his birthplace, Twiningham in England. When Delaware became part of the United States in 1794 its status changed and it became part of Medina County under Article VIII Section 2 of the Confederation Constitution (the first U.S. state). In order to avoid confusion with Delaware's capital city – Philadelphia – which had also been founded by George Washington as an independent municipality – Columbus chose instead to call Twinburg "Middletown", which natives pronounced as if it were medley-town or meadow-town spelled backwards - Mida-Towne-. This naming preference continued through most of Ohio until 1907 when Dayton assumed control over all municipalities within Union County (except those inside Clay County) due to statehood changes made at that time by then Ohio Governor John Fenton. At this time Medina became fully within Union County and so Dayton reverted back to using Mida-Towne as its official name while still using Miami Township for its old municipal boundaries including Cedarville, unincorporated territory east of I-light Drive located between US routes 42 and 66 just south of where Cedarville lies today; these boundaries remain unchanged today even though Cedarville has since annexed much adjacent territory making it functionally twin town again with no reference whatsoever to either village’s name! It wasn't until 1872 when Cincinnati bestowed upon Twinburg an honorific title: "The Most Ancient Town On The Frontier", citing how much earlier than other communities along the Great Lakes region such as Detroit or Buffalo Twinburgh had been abandoned for lack of timber for construction purposes following settlement by European Americans during the Jacksonian Era (1815–1828). Consequently, throughout most of American history there have been few if any African Americans resident in Twinsburg aside from transient workers who occasional stop by during construction projects or visiting relatives during periods when black residents were not desired or allowed among white settlers living nearby; however notable exceptions have included James Weldon Johnson who served as Mayor from 1951 until his death in 1968 and his wife Ebony Elizabeth Johnson who served as First Lady from 1969 until her death in 1992 both men being affiliated with Tuskegee University.) In recent decades there has been some redevelopment taking place with new housing developments being constructed near downtown while also a number small businesses have moved into newer buildings across Elmira Road/US Route 12th Street corridor increasing business activity around Twinbrook Mall which occupies much acreage once used for agriculture but now contains several large retailers including Macy's Department Store chain as well numerous small convenience stores like Dunkin' Donuts., gas stations, restaurants etc., giving Twinsborough one major anchors along I-light Drive stretching nearly 6 miles long providing commercial development opportunities not only near downtown but alsokmouth side extending beyond I-light Drive serving primarily residential areas although several larger office complexes are located southwest suburban off I-75 just outside Beech Grove Village limits) Although some people feel that development along ElmiraRoad does not go far enough towards revitalizing southern half which has seen significant decay over past few decades particularly since many young professionals have left for greener pastures elsewhere since jobs available here are increasingly scarce especially given current economic conditions,)

Twinsburg, Ohio is a small town located in the Muskingum Valley of northeastern Ohio. It was founded in 1814 by James and Nancy Sawyer as part of the land grant given to them by President James K. Polk. The town's first settler, John Witherspoon, arrived in 1815. In 1827, Twinsburg became the seat of Muskingum County when it was created from parts of Richland and Mahoning counties. The population grew rapidly during the 19th century, reaching 1,500 by 1900. During World War II, Twinsburg served as a major bomber plant for the United States Air Force. Today, Twinsburg remains an agricultural center with a population of about 20 households.
Twinsburg was founded in 1810 by John and Susannah Fritsch. The town was named for the two brothers, who were born in what is now the city of Cleveland. The Fritsches were farmers and their first home was a log cabin on the edge of the woods. They soon built more homes, including one that still stands today. The family operated a bakery and grocery store until 1840 when they moved to this site, which they called "The Square." In 1851, they built a new home on High Street which remains standing today. They also bred horses and dogs, becoming one of Ohio's leading dog breeders. In 1865, John died at age 91 and Susannah passed away at age 92. Their children continued to operate the business until it merged with another pet store in 1954.
