The first post office in Seven Hills was established on May 6, 1827, by David Kessler with the name of "New Harmony." It was renamed "Seven Hills" on November 8, 1867 by order of Governor James Ketchum because that is where he had been living since February 6th when he moved from Cincinnati into what is now Seven Hills Township. On July 1st 1898, Seven Hills became part of Delaware County after it was re-organized from Hamilton County following the creation of that county's new government under an act of Congress known as The Toledo Act. Two wars fought near or within reach of Seven Hills during much of its history have left its mark: World War I (1914-18) and World War II (1939-1945). The boundaries between these Wars changed frequently due to changes in map sightings and other factors; nevertheless, residents remain well aware of both conflicts that occurred hereabouts throughout their lives regardless thereof. In 1914-18 World War I impacted Eight Mile Road immediately south and east of town limits; this battlefield stretch forms today's eastern border for Seven Hills Township; while Six Mile Road continues circling westward through Three Rivers township as far as present day Wabash Avenue just north of Ulysses S Grant Middle School across Clinton Street; thence continuing northwest alongClinton Street past present day Haggerty Elementary School then turning northeast along Haggerty Boulevard past present day Ross Middle School before intersecting with current day US 23 about two miles west beyond town limits near Potter’s Ferry Dam marking this particular portion as “The Battlefield Corner” for all intents and purposes since this remains one significant boundary between Delaware County…and Waterloo Township which includes not only Eight Mile Road but also most importantly nearby Mud Creek Battlefield Park open yearround thru out Clinton Township including parts adjacent thereto still lying fallow & covered over by intervening fields
Seven Hills is a town in the Butler County, Ohio, United States. The population was 1,659 at the 2010 census. It was first settled in 1825 by farmers from what is now Beavercreek Township and once included parts of present-day Cincinnati. The town became a part of Cincinnati in 1837 and lost its city charter in 1911.
