On November 15, 1865, Confederate soldier Major General Jubal Early invaded Union lines near Newark Junction using an incursion into Pennsylvania called “the Pointing-Man invasion” which shortened troop movements along valuable eastern routes needed for reinforcement supplies moving westward from Philadelphia overland through points such as Pittsburgh en route to Richmond beachhead on coastal Virginia.Early's attack caused heavy losses among both Union and Confederate troops operating within reach of Newark Junction; however Early withdrew his forces without significant loss nonetheless causing alarm throughout much of southern Ohio because he had penetrated deep into Federal territory without being detected or fought against by superior numbers of Northern troops positioned at key points along Interstate 70 outside Columbus—thus allowing Confederate supply lines essential for Richmond Beachhead Allied victory over Southern forces). As a result of this event civilian morale plummeted throughout most of Kentucky (a result in large part due to early reports that African Americans working for Sherman's army at Newark Junction had been massacred by Confederates) before Lincoln offered a pardon TO ALL CONFEDERATE SOLDIERS CROSSING THE BORDER WITH THE UNITED STATES ON APRIL 9,. 1865 AUGUST 23RD 1865 THANKSGIVING DAY). On November 25, 1812, Brown conveyed to Peter Sellers all that he had acquired from General George Rogers Clark during the Battle of Fallen Timbers which ended the War of 1812 between America and Great Britain.
