Maple Heights is a town in the U.S. state of Ohio, located just east of Cincinnati on the border of Hamilton County and Shelby County. The population was 20,890 at the 2010 census. Maple Heights is part of the Dayton–Daytona Beach–Muncie Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first settlers in what would become Maple Heights were Germans who arrived in 1792 from Pomerania. They named their land "Herschel," after one of their families (the Herschel family settled near where I-75 and US-36 cross today). The town was platted in 1802 by John DeWitt and others under the name "Fenton." Fenton was renamed Maple Heights on April 6, 1810 when General James Hays laid out a road through this area to begin trade with other parts of Ohio. In 1850, there were only 12 residents living in Maple Heights; however, during that year's statewide election for United States President, John Quincy Adams won an overwhelming majority by winning all but two counties within his district- including Dayton–Daytona Beach–Muncie metropolitan statistical area (now Greater Cincinnati). When Adams took office he ordered all federal offices be moved to Washington D.C., so most notably his Executive Mansion became unoccupied and stored away among other government items until it was used as a model for newly built Mount Vernon House on Pennsylvania Avenue NW during World War II as Headquarters for Allied Expeditionary Forces Europe; also during World War II it served as Headquarters for United States Naval Forces Pacific Fleet operations off Spanish Island ( Guam) while Japanese forces bombed Pearl Harbor resulting in over 1 million casualties including many American servicemen killed or missing which closed down Naval Base San Diego shortly thereafter thereby ending naval military operations off Guam during World War II – thus providing some degree of deterrence against Japan once again! After Union victory at Gettysburg over Confederate army under General Robert Eriver Lee on July 4th 1863, citizens began voting Democrat rather than Republican following Lincoln's recommendation that party loyalty should not be determined by location or social status since there were more Republicans living in central Kentucky than Democrats living anywhere else within the Union except Richmond Virginia due largely to plantation wealth concentrates there&hellip In 1870s even though mostly single family homes still stood most people had moved into several 2 or 3 story brick buildings dating back to early 1800s when lots would have been much smaller then &hellip Most residents worked either as farmers or mechanics which explains why few homes still stand today almost all are gone &hellip Today we have a small amount of starter homes scattered around town center some being attached to larger businesses while most people live primarily inside their own homes &hellip So despite having very little infrastructure compared to most major cities (& heckles complaints about high taxes), maple heights has managed to maintain its unique character despite experiencing significant population growth throughout much of recent decades thanks largely to its strong local economy which now employs nearly 60% of its workforce!

Maple Heights is a town in Logan County, Ohio, United States. The population was 2,643 at the 2010 census. The community was named for the maple trees that lined the streets and front yards of its early settlers. The first inhabitants of what is now Maple Heights were German immigrants who arrived in 1814. They built a log cabin on an abandoned Indian trading post near present-day Haggertyville. The first school in Maple Heights was established in 1825 and district #2 became part of the Columbiana School District after it merged with the Mansfield Township School District in 1925. The town's first post office opened on November 10, 1828, and remained open until it was discontinued on December 12, 1903. At that time, it served as the home of Drury Postmaster General Jno Wickerham until he resigned in 1886 because of financial difficulties. In 1902, a new post office building was constructed at 288 Elm Street and served the community until 1978 when it burned down. On May 6, 1865, Union general Ulysses S Grant made his final visit to Logan County during his Overland Expedition exploring Ohio's Western Border area. He stopped at what is now Maple Heights and decided to stay there night before continuing his journey southward the next day. After spending two nights camping out beside a small stream called "Grant's Run", he finally decided to return home on May 7th due to lack of food supplies back east (the expedition had run into serious trouble about halfway through their trip). When Grant's body was recovered from nearby Mount Pleasant three years later by Majestic Mountain men searching for his remains (he had been shot through the heart while leading a cavalry charge against Confederate forces near Defiance Junction),Maple Heights residents honored him by erecting a statue overlooking Grant's Run just beyond theirown homes - one of only two such public displays ever made in commemoration of Union generals killed while fighting For Our Country during Reconstruction era(). In 1916 Erie Railroad president George Stephenson announced plans to build an electric line between Cleveland and Akron via Summit County; this would create much needed employment within Maple Heights area which had been largely left off Detroit’s social register since prohibition ended eight years earlier Kewaunee County became part of Stark County effective July 1st following ratification by voters thereof under Ohio Constitution amendment No 3 broadening suffrage opportunities for all whites over 21 years old statewide not including citizens or soldiers serving abroad or engaged with any state government service other than county election functions - thus giving rise to local resentment against Clevelandans & gridlock resultant from high rates charged by Cincinnatians for goods transported thru routes thru rural areas
Maple Heights was founded in 1795 by John Maple and his family. The Maple family operated a grocery store until 1828 when they moved to what is now the city of Cleveland. They were the first owners of the current building on Euclid Avenue which they purchased from Nicholas de Talleyrand in 1836. The Maple family continued to operate their grocery store until 1954 when it closed its doors for good.
