The Lima-Hamilton County Army National Guard was activated on October 15, 1916. The unit was redesignated the Lima-Hamilton County Air National Guard on November 1, 1948. The present incarnation of the guard is made up of 153rd Infantry Brigade Combat Team ( 162d Airlift Wing) and Headquarters and Headquarters Company (HC), 123d Airlift Squadron. The Lima-Hamilton County Army National Guard has been a part of the United States Armed Forces since 1916. From its activation until today, the unit has fought in a variety of conflicts including World War I, World War II, Korea, and Operation Desert Storm. Today's army gift history begins with America's first military force: the Lima-Hamilton County Air National Guard. This Guardsmen were activated on November 1, 1948 when Republic Airlines Flight 513 crashed into a wooded area near Dayton after takeoff from Wright-Patterson Airport. The crew and passengers were killed in what would be considered an aviation tragedy at the time. A few days later, on October 15th 1916, President Woodrow Wilson called for reactivation of all national guard units in order to provide "a more efficient militia" for wartime purposes. On December 12th General John Pershing issued his proclamation calling for every citizen to arm themselves with "the best weapon that can be devised." Unfortunately due to budget cuts within the military during World War I there wasn't enough available manpower to properly deploy these forces; however this did not stop local militias from arming themselves as needed. In fact many people who had served in WWI or WWII never stopped serving their country once they returned home - this is most notably evidenced by members of the Lima-Hamilton County Army National Guard which saw active duty during both world wars without having any prior service experience! The Ohio Militia Act No 2 of 1917 allowed citizens over 21 years old to own rifles and shotguns without registration or license requirements - something which would become standard throughout much of America during this time period! This act also allowed national guardsmen stationed along state borders to carry firearms into other states should hostilities arise! This gave birth to what would become known as 'constitutional Carry' across America! In 1918 Congress passed an act authorizing each state department of defense (OD) to furnish clothing and equipment for national guard detachments theretofore unacquainted with such assistance so far as possible within said departments...On May 14th 1919 Camp Chase became permanently attached heretofore under commandant Leland Stanford Smith...It should be noted that Article XII section 3f paragraph A(2) UICG reserves right not participate in any event organized by Federal authority outsideOfficial participation authorized thereby

The Lima, Ohio Army National Guard units have a rich history dating back to the Revolutionary War. The unit was organized on November 5, 1775, and fought in the Battle of Fallen Timbers. In 1812, Captain John Rodgers founded the 1st Company of United States Volunteers in Lima. The unit served in various wars including the Mexican-American War and World War I. It was reactivated on September 8, 1933 as part of the Ohio National Guard. The Lima, Ohio Army National Guard is one of only a few armies in the United States that is both state and federalized.
Lima is a city in the U.S. state of Ohio and the county seat of Clark County. The population was 58,827 at the 2010 census. Lima is part of the Cleveland–Akron–Canton, OH Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first European to visit the area now known as Lima was Francisco Pizarro in 1536, who named it "Yumna". It was not until 1795 that John Stevens founded a small trading post on an island in what is now called State Street, adjacent to present-day downtown Lima. In 1803, British settlers established Fort McHenry on Muskingum Bay about southeast of modern-day Lima. The fort served as a base for operations during both World Wars I and II and also housed military personnel from other states before being decommissioned in 1951. Lima's rapid growth following its incorporation as a town occurred primarily due to its strategic location – just off Interstate 4 – as well as its close proximity to major transportation hubs including Toledo (northwest), Akron (southwest), Columbus (east), and Youngstown (northeast). In addition, the city developed an extensive infrastructure including water systems, sewers, roads, parks, schools, businesses and numerous cultural institutions that continue to make Lima one of America's most traveled cities today. Today's economy revolves around various sectors such as health care services; manufacturing; professional and business services; retail trade; real estate development; information technology; tourism; agriculture ;and environmental services among others. With over 50% of residents employed within tertiary sector employers or businesses located in downtown Lima or along major corridors such as State Street or University Avenue, there are ample opportunities for economic growth with minimal impact on quality of life for all citizens

Many local businesses also operate within larger companies such as Dow Chemical Co., Geico Insurance Company, and Schlumberger Limited Partnership; however, many smaller businesses have also thrived over time in this vibrant community. Lima has experienced significant growth over recent decades – both economically and physically – due to its location in Central Ohio near major transportation hubs and its importance as a bedroom community for Hamilton Township (west side) and Canton (east side). The city has seen strong development around its downtown area including multiple high-rise buildings completed since 2000 along with substantial progress made on plans to create a mixed-use district anchored by the former AIG headquarters building currently home to several restaurants and retailers as well as office space for numerous tech firms including Apple Inc., Amazon Web Services LLC., Facebook Inc., Expedia Incorporated, PepsiCo USA INC.), Syngenta AG & Sonoma Co,. Ltd., United Launch Alliance LLC.), but much work still needs to be done before it becomes truly downtown: notably improvement or reworking of sidewalks across streets leading into downtown from surrounding neighborhoods which suffer from heavy Traffic congestion caused by job growth dating back to the early years of this millennium combined with continued enginess being put towards making vehicular travel more efficient through left turns onto curved streets despite warnings from city planners about potential negative consequences resulting from such projects nearby Interstate highway ramps providing easy access into Downtown via I-71/I-270 junction - together they form one long beltway that once served primarily as an artery routing commerce heading outbound whileJamestown Road became effectively only another arterial thoroughfare linking diverse neighborhoods eastward towards I-70
Lima was first settled in the mid-19th century by Ohio settlers. The city was chartered on July 12, 1827 and named after the capital of Peru, Lima. It became a major transportation center for the area and developed into a prosperous agricultural community. In 1919, Lima was renamed Dayton after the original home of Ohio's governor, John A.
