In 1917, the first law enforcement officer in Fremont, William B. Haggerty, received a Winchester Model 100 revolver as a gift from President Woodrow Wilson. After Haggerty served as an officer for many years, he passed away in 1951 with his revolver still inside his office where it is currently displayed. In 1964, Dr. Fred Cramer became the first person to open a gun store in Fremont when he opened Grendel’s Gun Shop on State Street. The store continued to be operated by Dr. Cramer until it closed its doors in 1984 after more than 25 years of business operation. In 1987, recreational shooters started using shotguns for self-defense purposes when they created the American Shotgun Association (ASA). ASA helpedto promote shotguns as weapons that could be used safely for recreational shooting and hunting purposes without causing harm to other animals or people. As a result of this shift in thought about guns and their use, gun sales increased throughout Fremont during the late 1980s and early 1990s. In 1998, gun dealers across Fremont opened up shop during California’s “National Gun Show” which attracted attention from retailers all over the country due to the high demand for firearms exhibited at the showgrounds within downtown Fremont itself! After 10 years of being open every year since 1998, Grendel’s Gun Shop closed its doors once again on December 15th of that year because of lack of customers or interest from outside investors who were interested in takingover the store space vacated by Grendel’s successor company K&W Guns & Ammo Incorporated (KGWA). However, due to its location within close proximity to several other businesses inside Downtown Fremont and because it had been vacant for so long without any plans being made to reopen it- KGWA decided not only reopened Grendel’s Store but also gave out free firearms rights to anyone who made an application through their website! This program continues today as AR15Rider Armory Corporation has taken over management of both stores making them both available for public inspection monthly! Since its reopening days back in 1998- KGWA has been one of the most successful businesses within Downtown Fremont having achieved multiple awards including First Place Award at Annual banquet given by Mayor Jerry Sanders along with numerous other accolades! During that time period there have been no major incidents reported involving either firearm nor customer service which has led many people (including me) believe that downtown Fremont is now finally safe for shoppers regardlessof your GUNS PURCHASE LEVEL!!

Fremont is a city in the county of Fremont, Ohio, United States. The population was 48,798 at the 2010 census. It lies on the border of Fremont and Dayton counties. The area that became Fremont was part of the Miami County settlement in 1811 and was named for Colonel James K. Fremont, an American Revolutionary War veteran and general who served in Canada. The first permanent settler in what would become Fremont was John Pomeroy in 1827. He purchased 640 acres (2 km²) of land from Simon Teal, a Native American leader, for $5 per acre ($/ha). In 1830, he built a home on his property which still stands today. A road ran through his property to bring goods to market; this road is now known as State Routes 422 and 431A. In 1835, Peter Muhlenberg started farming adjacent to Pomeroy's land; he soon developed into one of the largest farmers in town with over 100 acres (40 ha). By 1840, many other settlers had followed Muhlenberg to his farmlands including George Burgess and Elijah McCoy who bought additional land from Muhlenberg between 1840-1845. By 1850, there were more than 200 people living in Fremont; it had been renamed "Fremont" by then.[1] The community reached its peak during the late 19th century with growth due to milk products production from farms around town and exports to countries such as China[2][3]. However during World War I,[4] industry took hold with munitions factories being established along State Route 422 which led directly to downtown Fremont becoming one of the most heavily industrialized areas east of Chicago.[5][6][7] After World War II,[8] development slowed as technology advanced which has caused much housing stock loss throughout Downtowns across America however some new mixed use projects have arisen such as One Franklin Center located near Interstate 5 exit 219[9][10].
