Bellefontaine Neighbors, Missouri is a small town in St. Francois County, Missouri. The population was 1,746 at the 2010 census. It is located on the east side of Bellefontaine Lake. The community was named after Bellefontaine Parish, France. Bellefontaine Neighborhoods were platted in 1872 and are made up of two sets of neighborhoods: the older part of town that is still rural and undeveloped today, and the newer section that has been developed into modern-day Bellefontaine Village. The first set of neighborhoods were situated on the eastern edge of what is now Bellefontaine Lake where there were few buildings and no people. This area was mostly swampy and marshy until 1872 when developers started to build structures here. Today this old section remains largely unpopulated because it can be difficult to find roads leading there from other parts of town or because it takes a long time to get there by car from central Saint Francois County. The second set of neighborhoods were built on the southern edge of Bellefontaine Lake which had more homes and people due to its proximity to city streets and businesses as well as its position between two large lakes which gave it a lot of potential for growth. In addition, this new section became more developed over time with paved streets, shopping malls, churches, schools, and many other amenities becoming available here for residents who wanted them. The older part of town still retains some rural character but these days most residents are either commuters or locals who own their homes within walking distance from most activities in town center or around Bellemontaine Lake itself

The first aircraft carrier was America (CV-11) launched on December 7, 1941 from Lakehurst Naval Air Station and operated by the U.S Navy for three months during World War II before being decommissioned on April 8, 1945 due to wartime restrictions placed on naval aviation at that time. In 1951, the USS Constellation (CV-63) became the first supersonic warship when it completed its maiden voyage from NAS Norfolk to Tokyo Bay using Turbojet propulsion with a top speed of Mach 1.5 or more! On July 16, 1961, USS Enterprise (CVN-65) became the second supersonic warship when she completed her maiden voyage from NAS Patuxent River to Yokosuka Bay and reached speeds of Mach 2+. This event marked an important milestone in naval aviation asSuicide missions were no longer necessary on carriers as they could now travel at high speeds without fear of loss or damage! On May 15, 1970 CVN 73/CVA 63 finally delivered the last CVA - George Washington Class Carrier - to US Naval Base Yokosuka after over 20 years of construction and design! With this delivery CVN 73/CVA 63 also represented American Embassies throughout Japan during these years! CVN 73/CVA 63 is currently used as a museum ship docked at Yokosuka Proving Ground where visitors can experience her unique features including her Rolls Royce Trent 400 engines capable of operating at 5500 rpm!

Bellefontaine is located on the east side of Bellefontaine River. Bellefontaine was first platted in 1838 as part of the Town of Bellefontaine, which was organized by James K. Polk and named for General Lafayette's home town in France. In 1851, the Township of Bellefontaine was organized and named after Belle Fontaine, a village near Paris that had been destroyed by fire in 1836. The original plat included a small stream called "The Fountains" which served as a source of water for mills and homes within the community. In 1862, when Beaufort County was created from Stephenson County, most of what is now Belle fontain Neighbors were added to Beaufort County including parts of what are now Fulton and Indianola Counties; however, some land within present day Bellefontaine remained with Stephenson County until it was annexed into Kansas City in 1907. Bellefontaine became an incorporated village in 1904 and has since grown into one of Missouri's largest villages with over 604 residents residing therein according to the 2010 census report. Most residents work outside the village but there are several businesses within its limits that provide services to its constituents such as health care/medical assistance, grocery store/marketing operations, restaurant/barbecue establishment etc..
