Airforce gifts have been a part of the St. Louis Park community for over 50 years. After World War II, the Air Force began to gift items and services to local citizens in an effort to support their military service. One of these gifts was the Texas Air National Guard's H-1A helicopter, which was donated by Major General Charles A. Lindbergh in 1946. The helicopter has been used by the Air Force ever since and is still used today as a flight simulator at Lowry AFB in Minnesota. Today, the Air Force Foundation continues this tradition by donating various items and services to local communities throughout Minnesota and Missouri. These donations include helicopters, airplanes, missiles, engines, training supplies, and more. In addition to supporting our military members abroad, these donations also help keep our community healthy and active with new equipment and ideas from the Air Force!

St. Louis Park is a city in the U.S. state of Minnesota, located on the Saint Croix River and within the Minneapolis-Saint Paul Metropolitan Area. As of 2010, its population was 174,257. The city is home to Saint Louis Park High School and Saint Louis Park College as well as to two universities; University of St. Thomas in MN and Hamline University in MN. It is also home to a number of businesses such as Allstate, Target, Nordstrom Rack, United Airlines Center and Hess Financial Group Inc.. The first Europeans to visit what is now St. Louis Park were French traders from Quebec City who landed there in 1659 after sailing upriver from Winnipeg under the leadership of Pierre de la Salle. They named their landing place "Cape Rouge" (or "Hess's Bay"). In 1751 Lieutenant Colonel George Rogers founded Rogers House near present day Nicollet Island on the banks of the river for fur traders working for Hudson's Bay Company. The first white settler was John Turnbull who built a small log cabin on his land around 1825 with assistance from fur trader Alexander Ramsey Jr.. Turnbull became one of the earliest residents when he bought land east of present day Nicollet Avenue from Alex Ramage Jr., one of those original owners mentioned by de la Salle in 1659 during his exploration upriver from Manitoba (today's Winnipeg). In 1854 Abraham Lincoln was elected President of America and upon taking office moved into an Executive Mansion at 3rd Street and Capitol Avenue which had been donated by General George Armstrong Custer who had died only a few months earlier while serving as commander-in-chief at Fort Robinson near Tacoma Washington Territory (now Tacoma). After four years living in Illinois he decided that he would like some more privacy so he took up residence at Government House which then stood on parkland adjacent to Lake Calhoun just north of downtown St. Paul between Third Street North and Fourth Street South today known as State Capitol Square before moving into nearby White House Drive where he continued to live until his death about nine months later on April 14th 1865 after eight years being president! After Lincoln's death Vice President Andrew Johnson took over but quickly proved himself incompetent so Johnson was replaced by Ulysses S Grant who did even less job than Johnson had done let alone being able to continue anything that had been started by Johnson! On January 8th 1870 Congress passed Public Law 527 which created Saint Louis Park Reserve including all or part thereof now known as Douglas Heights neighborhood on what are today east side streets south of Nicollet Avenue north/west side streets between Seventh Street South and Eighth Street North today called Aberdeen Place following Congressional resolution providing lands west bank along current Hennepin Boulevard between Seventh & Eighth Streets were set aside for this purpose!! This area now includes much or all Douglas Heights Neighborhood including parts currently occupied by Rosedale Golf Course & Country Club - still oneof Twin Cities' most exclusive neighborhoods !! "Welcome Home: A history lesson about St." The places we know today began forming about 4500 years ago when Native Americans lived here according to archaeological evidence discovered throughout northern Minnesota . Archeologists have found evidence that humans hunted animals common across much Northwestern North America such as elk, deer, moose, bear etc., early settlers likely gathered game meat for their own subsistence rather than selling it back home like many other cultures at that time did . A trading post operated here sporadically during early European colonization period but never grew large enough for permanent settlement due primarily to political instability surrounding British Crown Colony expansion intoNorth American landscape – it wasn’t until 1800s when entrepreneur David Rice developed plans for annexation by new Minneapolis /Saint Paul town center .... Continued Growth followed ensuing waves both human + commercial development … waterfront property gradually transitioned hands multiple times until acquired outright by city government .. Today’s downtown core contains unique examples including Arts District Mixed Use buildings dating back several decades assembled piecemeal with limited funding utilizing reclaimed materials available .. Landmark Fillmore Theatre Complex features world leading acoustics designed specifically for stage productions .. Dozens if not hundreds more properties dotted varying portions eastern metro area prior thereto ++ Much has changed since establishment date….. Many notable landmarks local historians consider integral parts or historical milestones include: White House Complex variously considered “the most influential building ever erected inside our borders” – Fenton Waterfront Historic District nomination incl…. iconic First National Bank Building completed shortly thereafter………. Pioneer Cemetery complex established outside boundaries along Nicollet Ave soon afterwards…………….. StLouis Park Rapids Housing Development initiated circa1960 immediately adjacentRobert Mueller Courthouse also located herein…………………. rapidly gentrifying neighborhoods adjoining downtown experiencing high levels Of crime ++ Today’s community experiences vibrant arts scene mixed with increasing concentrations op poverty……………………………………………………………………………..

St. Louis Park, Minnesota is a city in the U.S. state of Minnesota and the capital of Saint Louis Park County. The population was 26,362 at the 2010 census, making it the fifth-largest city in Saint Louis Park County. It is also the largest city in Minneapolis-Saint Paul metropolitan area, which has a population of 563,711 as of 2017. The name comes from German settlers who named their new town after Stuttgart, Germany. The first organized settlement in what is now Saint Louis Park Township dates back to 1855 when farmers started arriving and establishing homes on land that today includes most of downtown Saint Louis Park and much of its east side. The township was created on December 12, 1857 when a group of men from Nicollet County purchase 2 miles (3 km) west of present day West Side streets from John Ahearn for $1 per acre (0.50 hectares). This set off a process by which farmers bought parcels and developed them into townships with their own governments and schools as well as churches and businesses. In 1860–61 Masons built a small cabin near what is now present day Brooklyn Avenue and South Lyndale Road for themselves before starting construction on what would become one of the most important Masonic Lodges in America – StLouis Lodge No 1 (Red Cloud Masons), which met at this location until 1885 when it moved to Grandview Lodge Hall on Boulevard d’Iberville just south of current day Adams Street/Brooklyn Avenue in downtown Saint Louis Park
In 1858, St. Louis Park was organized as a township. In 1876, the village of Bloomington was founded in what is now the eastern edge of St. Louis Park. Bloomington became an incorporated town in 1889 and a city in 1907.
