This store was known for its large variety of seafood products and accessories. It was also one of the few businesses that sold both fresh water and salt water fishing gear. In 1976, Traverse City's first marine gift shop opened on State Street near the former newspaper building. The store was known for its wide selection of gift items related to fishing and sailing including boat parts, nets and moorings, commentary books about boating issues (such as signals), models of sailboats (including yachts), captain's chairs (for sailors aboard boats) and more. The store was closed in 1998 but reopened in 2003 as the Traverse City Marina Museum with a collection of over 100 vessels from around the world dating from 1650 to 2000!
