There is no one definitive account of the first coffee beans roasted in Boone, Iowa. However, a story dating back to 1854 may give us some clues about the early history of this town. That year, three men from Boone traveled to Council Bluffs, Iowa, and purchased two acres of land where they would soon start their own coffee plantation. The men named their new business the "Oasis Coffee Company." The Oasis Coffee Company made its first sale of coffee beans in 1855. By 1860, the company had created a large enough demand for its product that it decided to move its presses from Nauvoo, Illinois to Boone. In 1861, Oasis Coffee was sold to Valentine Bros., a group of businessmen from Des Moines who ran a grocery store in Boone. The Valentine Bros. familyoperatedOasisCoffeeCompanyuntil1873whenthey merged with another business called Drake & Hennig's Coffee Co. This merger left Boone with only one coffee house - the Drake Hotel - remaining in operation until 1886 when it closed down due to financial problems.
Boone, Iowa is a small town in the northwest corner of Iowa. It is bordered by Harrison County to the north, Ottawa County to the east, and Vandalia County to the south. The population was 9,824 at the 2010 census. The town was founded in 1851 as a result of an amalgamation of two settlements: Booneville and Parkersburg. The first settler in Boone was John Denton, who arrived in 1851. The town became a full-time community on April 1, 1852 when it incorporated as a village. In its early years, Boone had several churches and schools. Afterreek Methodist Church was built in 1861 and served as the town's church until 1957; it still stands today and is used for weddings and other events. In 1865, Union Pacific Railroad donated land for a depot near present-day Boone Creek; this structure still stands today as part of the Northrop Grumman Corporation campus within North Dakota State University's Fargo campus complex. As more people moved into Boone over time, businesses began popping up all over town - including several restaurants that remain popular today such as Booneshire Inn & Tavern and Herrington's Grill & Bar - with only limited success until World War II when technology made things much easier for proprietors with better radios! More recently some major changes have taken place such as conversion of downtown streets from one-way streets to four-way boulevards (an effort spearheaded by Mayor Donal Pogue) which has helped bring about increased pedestrianism throughout what once seemed an isolated community center mall housing just six stores now houses 40+ businesses! Today there are many cultural attractions located aroundtown including: the Art Museum of Northwest Iowa (formerly known as UIUC), established in 1981; the Bowen Museum of American History (established 1935), home to one of UIUC’s largest art collections overall; the Clinton Presidential Library & Museum (established 1978), home to both former president Ulysses S. Grant’s presidential library and presidential archives; and finally...Boone Valley State Park (opened 1986), which encompasses over 12 square miles (.5 mile per sq km) stretching through rolling hills towards Polk County Lake providing plenty of open space for hiking/riding horses/black bears etc., also features condos/condos along its perimeter should you wish to purchase one!

Boone, Iowa is a small town in central Iowa that was founded in 1868. The community is named after General James Boone, who fought in the Mexican-American War and later served as the United States Minister to Spain. The population of Boone was 1,853 at the 2000 census. It is located on State Highway 6 between Ames and Des Moines. The first settlers in Boone were farmers who began arriving in 1869. They slave-worked on a farm near present day Burlington before moving to what is now Boone about two miles east of the current town site. In 1870, John Halsey established a blacksmith shop and started trading goods with Native Americans living around his area. By 1871, several other settlers had followed Halsey to Boone and soon there were four stores and fifty residents. In 1872, three men from Des Moines (Daniel Laughlin, William Dickey and Isaac Nance) came to Boone looking for land to homestead. After locating some good land they built a cabin which still stands today next to the high school football field. Around this time also another group of settlers arrived from Hamilton County (John Haslett, Jesse Pappas and Samuel Tilton). These men set up a store along with two others which became known as The Three Musketeers Store until it burned down in 1907. By 1876 there were ten residents living in Boone proper while eleven people lived out of town on surveyed farms within five miles of the town limits including modern day Ames and Burlington. bucolic life continued at least until 1888 when construction began on what would become High School #1; this structure remains one of Boones most visible landmarks even though it no longer serves as an educational institution today but rather houses storage building since its replacement by Midtown Mall adjacent Boones only other commercial center dating back to 1955!
