Tinley Park, Illinois is home to the United States Army and it has been through many different gift histories. The first time the army moved here was in 1812, when General James K. Polk's army invaded Missouri. The army brought over a lot of goods with them and these goods were stored in what is now known as Camp Chase. In 1815, the army moved into Fort Dearborn and this was where they started stocking items like clothing, cooking supplies, and guns. In 1840, the army moved into Tinley Park and this was when they started stocking items like saddles, horses, cannons, and other weaponry. They also started selling food here which helped fuel the military for years to come. In 1865-1866 the army explored new territory in Dakota Territory and because of this they brought over a lot of goods with them including livestock, tools, ammunition, crops, lumber products, etcetera. In 1927-1928 when World War II began there was a big push by President Franklin D. Roosevelt to get Americans into the war. He believed that if America got involved then we could beat Germany at their own game! So he ordered all agencies to start buying things like gasoline oil and other materiel needed for war efforts such as tanks and planes! This gave Tinley Park an edge in terms of being able to sell these items so soon after they became available. It wasn't until 1941 that America entered World War II officially! This meant that everything from groceries to socks had to be bought in bulk or it would not have been allowed for sale within our borders! But because Tinley Park had stocked so much stuff prior to this point it didn't have any trouble getting everything out there for troops onthe ground! After World War II ended in 1945 there was another big push by President Harry S Truman to get Americans into service again! He wanted us all ready for something bigger coming our way so he decided that we should start stockpiling supplies once again!! This led to Tinley Park becoming one of the top sellers of military gear ever because we knew how crucial it was that our soldiers be able to fight on some big stages eventually!

The Tinley Park Army garrison was established in 1861. The first post was at Mount Carmel, and the garrison served until 1865. In 1871, the post moved to its current location at Forest Avenue and Pulaski Road. It served as an infantry battalion unit during World War I and World War II. Tinley Park is a village in Cook County, Illinois, United States. The population was 31,539 at the 2010 census. Tinley Park is part of the Chicago metropolitan area. It lies on the west side of Chicago and is north of the current border between Cook County and DeKalb County. The Village of Tinley Park was organized in 1868 as a result of a land grant from President Andrew Johnson to Samuel Fenton. At first, many residents near South Michigan Avenue (now Wilson Avenue) worked for local farmers while living in tents or shacks. In 1871, tinkerers started producing coins by coating brass with lead and then painting it black; these coins were known as "tinkey" or "tinkers". By 1870, there were several businesses in Tinley Park including groceries, an insurance agency, and a millinery shop run by Mrs. Harker and her daughter-in-law Mrs. Mason; they also built a school house in 1871 which became the first high school in Cook County. In 1879, Mayor John Prentice leased 1/3 of what would become Lincoln Road (later Roosevelt Boulevard) to build a public works project that included new roads, sewers and an arena; this area became known as "Prentice's Promenade". The village continued to grow rapidly through the 1880s with more business incorporations including two residences for judges: one on State Street (now Wabash Avenue) and another on Prairie Avenue (now Prospect Heights). Tinley Park is a town in Cook County, Illinois, United States. The population was 30,912 at the 2010 census. Tinley Park is part of the Chicago metropolitan area. It is adjacent to the city of Chicago on the northern edge of its territory and to Lake Michigan on its southwestern edge. Tinley Park's name comes from two families: one from England who settled there in 1847, and another from Holland who arrived in 1793. The first post office was established in Tinley Park on October 15, 1851. In 1875, an act of Congress designated Tinley Park as a " corporate town." On May 8, 1903, a fire destroyed much of the downtown business district but did not damage any homes or churches. The current central business district was built between 1913 and 1919 when it replaced what had been an old agricultural village that straddled the border between Cook County and DuPage County. The original plan called for a series of small businesses to be built around a central market like those found in other American cities such as New York City or Boston. However, because no money was available to build this type of market until after World War I due to prohibitionist legislation passed by Congress during that period (the National Prohibition Act), only four small stores were built; all within three blocks of each other on North LaSalle Street near Wabash Avenue before being demolished in 1922 during construction of Northwestern Expressway which ran through what is now Midtown Chicago. In 1923–24 architect Burnham & Root designed what became known as the Tribune Tower which overlooks Lake Michigan and can be seen from most parts of Tinley Park
In 1847, Tinley Park was founded by Amos Kendall and his family. The town was named after the tin mines located in the area. The first post office was established in Tinley Park in 1852. In 1865, the Chicago and Northwestern Railway built a line through the town. The first store opened in Tinley Park in 1867.
