Tactical coffee first came to Burbank, Illinois in the early 1970s as a result of the growing popularity of Counterculture Coffee. Back then, Tactical Coffee was simply a marketing name for the company's own line of java concentrate. However, over time, Counter Culture Coffee began to develop its own brand and introduction of their own unique blends. Eventually, Tactical Coffee became an established player in the coffee industry and continues to serve up quality beans today. In 1971, Manual Arts Café opened its doors in downtown Burbank. At first glance, it may have appeared as if nothing had changed since Manual Arts Café closed down in 1969- after all, there were no new businesses opening up in that part of town! However, something had definitely shifted - people were now looking for more than just stand-alone cafes when it came to getting their caffeine fix. They wanted places where they could come together and share ideas and experiences with other like-minded individuals. This was where Tactical Coffee originated - it was designed as a community resource for coffee drinkers acrossBurbank County. Initially just a one-man operation (the proprietor at the time being John Larson), John started off by importing his ground beans from Africa and roasting them himself on site using only French Presses and personal favorites like SumatraJava or Ethiopian Harissa blend$. He quickly realized that he couldn't do this alone - he needed help! So he recruited some friends who also enjoyed good coffee (and helped him out when necessary) before starting up his own business back in 1973! It wasn't long until everyone involved with Tactical Coffee felt like they belonged here - we all knew each other well enough to share tips/tricks/strategy etc., without ever having to say anything! We were all streetwise kids learning about how to run our Own Business from our fathers & grandfathers... And we loved every minute of it! It wasn't long untilCounter Culture Coffee began producing their own blends too... which is probably why you can still find those delicious Ethiopian Harissa Blend coffees around here today (although admittedly not every batch is as amazing as those early days). But even though Counter Culture Coffee was slowly starting to build its own legacy within our community by producing their very own blends... Manual Arts Cafe continued serving up fantastic cupcakes & pastries everyday :)

In 1958, Burrard Field Airport opened in downtown Burbank along with other new developments such as shopping malls and office parks which have continued to dominate local employment ever since. Burbank, Illinois is a city located in Cook County, Illinois. The population was 68,878 at the 2010 census. It is the largest city in Cook County by population and the second-largest city in Illinois after Chicago. The city was founded by brothers Isaac and Abraham Burbank on November 3, 1847, as a small trading post near what is now North Avenue and Cicero Street. The Burbanks had been farmers since they were children. They first built a log cabin on their farmstead which still stands today. In 1853, they made a Donation to the University of Chicago for an addition to the campus; this donation has been called "the beginning of Burbank's relationship with university." The brothers also donated land for what would become Northwestern University's first campus buildings. In 1861, Abraham purchased 273 acres (105 hectares) east of downtown from John Fenton for $10 per acre. He named it Prairie View Park in honor of President James K. Polk who had visited the area several times during his presidency (among other things). In 1870, when railroad construction began near downtown Burbank, Abraham became one of the early investors in that industry and helped create what is now known as Northern Tracks Railway Company - one of four original coal railways in America. He also served as president of Northern Tracks Railway Company from 1871 to 1875 inclusive."Burbank: A Comprehensive History" Despite these successes he died suddenly aged only 44 years old on October 6th 1865 just six months before his company merged into Burlington Railroad Company. After he passed away there was much speculation about who should succeed him as CEO but no clear successor could be found so his position went uncontested until 1870 when David Dixon took over following his dismissal from Northern Tracks Railway Company. Dixon later served as mayor of Chicago and governor of Illinois before being appointed United States Ambassador to Japan where he successfully negotiated free trade treaties with that country. Today downtown Burbank retains much its pioneer heritage with buildings such as theoriginal log cabin still standing todayand many more examples dating back to burbank's founding days including NorthwesternUniversity's firstcampus buildingswhich were donated by abraham burbanks himselfand many more.
