Bolingbrook is a small town in Cook County, Illinois, United States. The population was 31,569 as of the 2010 census. Bolingbrook has been identified as one of "America's Most Artsy Cities" by Forbes Magazine and has been home to many coffee roasters and cafes over the years. In 1882, John Palmer opened Palmer Coffee House in the now-demolished Palmer Park Shopping Center on State Street in Bolingbrook. Other early coffee houses include The Pea Ridge Cafeteria at Elmwood Avenue and Halsted Street in 1917, White's Coffee House on South Washington Street in 1919, Creamery Cafe on West Washington Boulevard near North Central High School in 1922-1923, Blue Moon Café at Eisenhower Parkway and Third Street from 1925 until its closure in 1991. The first Starbucks opened its doors in 1993 inside then- mall Sears Roebuck & Co., located just east of downtown Bolingbrook. The coffee house became well known for its unique design which featured an exposed brick oven used to roast their beans. It quickly gained a following among locals and tourists alike due to its cozy atmosphere and delicious java drinks. In 2007, Starbucks announced that it would close all but two stores worldwide – one located inside Sears – due to financial problems. However, the store reopened under new management less than two weeks later with plans to reopen all stores within five months of profitability .Since taking over ownership of all but two locations globally from2006-2007; Starbuck’s corporate team has worked tirelessly on making these stores even more successful while preserving each store’s iconic architecture Today there are more than 1,,000 Starbucks locations around the world including 350 outlets across Illinois In 2011 Starbucks closed down a small café inside KFC restaurant called 'Fruit Lovers'. The town was first settled by Italian immigrants in the 1830s, and became a popular tourist destination for them because of its beautiful architecture and gracious hospitality. In 1853, Bolingbrook became home to its first ever grocery store, which helped spur development around it. By 1910, Bolingbrook had a population of over 100 people and boasted several businesses that specialized in various food items such as cheese, eggs, flour, milk, vegetables, etc.

During World War II, Bolingbrook became an important supply center for US troops stationed in Europe. This process would place the beans on an open flame, turning them gradually into roasted coffee with a decrease in intensity over time. Bunker coffee was also popular because it had a deep flavor and rich texture. The second most common method of roasting coffee was called “doubling mode”.Doubling mode involved adding water 197 times to the same bean, producing two very different types of coffee that could not be confused for one another. Doubling mode made for more complex and fruity coffees that often tasted better than bunker or regular roasts. In 1852, John Peterson started making his own espresso machines which allowed him to roast his own beans specifically for himself and his customers. This innovation led to the birth of artisanal coffee culture in America. Since then, there have been many other talented individuals who have helped shape this unique industry, such as Jonathan Aronson, who is responsible for developing Koffee Klatch and Starbucks Reserve Roasts; David Leonhardt who founded Blue Bottle Coffee; Tim Hortons founder Donatien Beaudry;and Jesse Helms Jr., who co-founded Black & Decker Incorporated
The history of artisan coffee goes back to the early 1800s when Frenchman Jean-Baptiste de La Motte first brewed coffee in a small shop on the Rue Notre Dame. The first espresso machines were invented in 1887 by Italian engineer Alessandro Volta, and soon after, coffee began to be sold directly from small roasters and cafes. In the 1920s, Harry J. Schwab founded Schwab Coffee & Tea in Philadelphia and began stocking more than 200 local roasters from around the world. By the 1970s, Starbucks had begun franchising its own stores throughout North America, while French café L’Espresso had become one of the largest coffee providers in Europe. In 1984, Dutch cafe Koffiehuis opened its doors with a single roast of their own beans. Today, there are over 1,000artisan cafes worldwide that sell both processed and whole bean coffees.

Bolingbrook was named after John Bolingbroke, 1st Viscount Bolingbroke and his family's home in Northamptonshire, England. Bolingbrook has been inhabited by Native Americans for centuries. The first Europeans to visit the area were French fur traders in the mid-17th century. In 1768, George Washington and his army passed through Bolingbrook on their way to battle with the British at Yorktown. In 1819, when Illinois became a state, Bolingbrook became one of its first towns. The town had a population of just over 100 people when it incorporated as a city in 1847. At that time, it was one of only two cities in Cook County–the other being Bloomingdale–and it boasted a vibrant commercial life based on agriculture and trade with surrounding villages and counties. During World War II,bolingbrook served as an important manufacturing center for munitions production for both Allied and Axis forces alike. Many B-29 Superfortresses were produced here including those used in Pearl Harbor; many residents also played roles in helping make that happen such as working on assembly lines or supplying materials from local warehouses directly to nearby airstrips during combat missions over Japan .
