Bolingbrook is a small town in Cook County, Illinois, United States. The population was 24,754 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Chicago metropolitan area and has a rich history dating back to 1836. Bolingbrook is located in the northwest corner of Cook County and shares borders with Skokie to the north, South Holland to the east, La Salle to the south and west. The first settler in what would become Bolingbrook was John Pemberton who arrived in 1836. He founded a log cabin on what is now Park Avenue. The first store opened in 1840 on Superior Street just east of present day State Street. In 1852, Mr. Pemberton's son John Wirtz bought land from him and built a gristmill on Elmhurst Road about two miles northeast of Bolingbrook village center overlooking Lake Michigan. This mill continued operation until it closed around 1945 due to competition from new mills being built near byabouts then including Hinsdale and Wheaton (now DuPage). In 1856, Wheeler & Company organized as an incorporated company with stores at Joliet and North Side Avenues north of North Avenue (then Dearborn Street) which served as their headquarters for years before moving downtown to First National Bank building at Halsted Street West (now Washington Ave.). They also ran hotels along Artesian Creek which led eventually to naming one street after each hotel: Wiseman Rd., Kress Rd., etc.. Eventually they outgrew these properties so they developed suburban properties such as Arlington Heights on Archer Road (later renamed Northwest Highway), River Forest on Prairie View Aves., Golf Hill Manor on Hampshire Rd., Winnetka Ridge on Wilmette Rd.. These developments were popular with residents because they featured high-quality schools, close access to shopping malls and other amenities typical of suburban areas at that time. The arrival of television changed everything when CBS began airing "The Ed Sullivan Show" live from CBS Television Center here beginning February 15th 1951 right through May 5th 1951 all weekdays except Sundays! This series generated immense national attention here locally as well as nationally throughout much of early TV history thru its many appearances over several years here including numerous reruns thru many different local media outlets over decades especially during following decades thru various local marketing campaigns managed by both our own locally based production company known today simply as "GTV Productions" & later through more recent ownership by Hess Broadcasting Corporation until its sale effective January 1st 2009

Bolingbrook is a small town in the northwestern corner of Illinois, United States. The population was estimated to be 12,451 at the 2010 census. Bolingbrook was once an agricultural community that grew cotton and corn. It now has a diverse economy with manufacturing, retail, and service sectors. The Bolingbrook School District includes 11 schools in Bolingbrook and surrounding villages. Bolingbrook is located on the north bank of the Kankakee River near its confluence with the Chicago River. According to the 2010 census, it has a total area of , of which is land and (1%) is water. The first people to live in what is now Bolingbrook were members of the Potawatomi tribe who migrated from their territory in Indiana about 1795-1800. They arrived via canoe or steamboat and built some log houses on an island in the Kankakee River where they called their settlement "Kankakee Landing." By 1812, most of these Indians had died from diseases contracted during this period including smallpox brought over by European traders along with other new arrivals such as whites seeking land for economic opportunities among Native Americans. In 1827, John Caulfield purchased 9 acres (3 ha) east of present-day Bolingbrook from Chief Pontiac's father for $2 per acre ($/ha). As part of his purchase agreement he promised not to build any other buildings on his property until further notice so that others might study botany thereabouts before starting any plantations thereon! This gesture by Caulfield set off a long series of friendship connections between himself and various native groups which continue today as one aspect of Bollinger's unique history
