The Post Falls Army Depot was founded in 1918 by the United StatesArmy. The depot served as a storage and distribution center for artillery, ammunition, and other war supplies. It also became home to the Army’s Research and Development Command during World War II. In 1957, the depot was renamed Post Falls Army Arsenal after Colonel John P. Post, then-director of research at the arsenal. Over time, the depot has become an important resource for military equipment and technology development in Idaho and across the nation. Today, it is part of the Defense Logistics Agency and continues to serve as a vital part of America’s military infrastructure.

Post Falls, Idaho is a town in Clark County, Idaho, United States. The population was 9,898 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Boise Metropolitan Statistical Area. Post Falls is located on the Payette River and is northeast of Boise City. The first post office in Post Falls was established on July 1, 1885. The first store in Post Falls was opened by C. W. Groomer and his partner A. Hargrave on Main Street in 1907. The name Post Falls originated from a location near the falls where water cascaded over a small rock face making an "opener" for boats upstream during the early days of the Payette River Navigation Company. In 1912, Fenton Jourdain donated land to make Post Falls an incorporated village with a governance structure similar to that of townships within Oregon Territory (then Washington Territory). In 1916, recreational use rights were granted for what would become known as North Park Lake which included picnic areas, fishing lakes, and hunting grounds; these rights remain today and are open to people of all ages year-round without registration or any other restrictions whatsoever

The president also awarded Moynihan two Purple Hearts for his actions that day. Today, gifts are often given in remembrance or in recognition of exceptional service or bravery by members of the US military. For example, in 2009 US Marine Corps Lance Corporal Joshua Roberts was honored with a civilian award for heroism after he courageously helped save fellow Marines from an ambush while on patrol in Afghanistan (CNN 10/2/2009). Post Falls is a town in southeastern Idaho, United States. The population was 2,853 at the 2000 census. It is the county seat of Clark County. Post Falls is located on the Snake River and forms a triangle with Salmon and Payette Counties to its north, east and south. The city was founded by gold miners in 1885 as Postville and became a mining camp after the discovery of gold near Paradise, Nevada in 1887. Gold was not found at Post Falls but gradually it became an important center for silvermining in southern Idaho. Development of the town began in earnest during World War I when American soldiers garrisoned there helped build up southwestern Idaho defenses against Japanese aggression. In 1919, Post Falls became an official city with incorporation under the name of "Post Falls." The post office at Post Falls operated from 1865 until 1959. The first postmaster was Amos Purdy who served from 1865-1867. At that time, mail delivery took place by wagon or horseback which required passage through Cache Valley where some streams flowed clear to gravity outlets called 'pits'. Ampney's Store opened in 1868 which conducted business along Main Street for three years before close due to lack of customers logging into town during those days remote from anything else except Canyon City on the other side of the river Canyon Creek across canyon Gorge When Gold Rush times arrived people started being sent back east for supplies so by 1870s most people had left for good leaving behind their equipment including stores, saloons and hotels all built without permits as violence prevailed between prospectors/miners and non-prospectors/non-miners known as 'the Groommen'. One hotelier reported his costs were $50 per day just to keep his establishment open while others went out of business due to this type of competition; one account said: "No matter how hard we try we cannot compete with those men down at Sacramento".
