Alpharetta is a small town in Georgia, located on the Chattahoochee River. The population was 8,045 at the 2010 census. After years of steady growth throughout much of the 20th century (with some interruptions), Alpharetta experienced significant growth during the 1990s and 2000s as more people began moving intotown from surrounding suburbs such as Roswell Park and Decatur Heights. This migration has brought new life to downtown streetscapeparks such as Midtown Center and Greektown that have seen little use since their closure in 1982 due to lack of residentship or development interest; today these areas are popular tourist destinations for visitors from all over Atlanta!
