In 1876, a German immigrant named Ludwig Bohn founded the first coffeehouse in Tampa. This business was a small operation, and only served local residents. However, within a few years, Bohn had built up a large following for his espresso beverages. In 1886, German immigrant Wilhelm Kromer opened the first grocery store in Tampa. This business became known as the Kromer Grocery and Coffee House. While Kromer's establishment did not sell coffee beans nor roast them himself, he did provide an early example of how café-goers could purchase cups of joe from local merchants. By 1897, cafés had become commonplace throughout Tampa and had begun to attract tourists as well as locals! In 1914, The Daily News published an article about The First Coffee Company in Tampa which was established by two brothers named Harry and John Schroth Sr.. These entrepreneurs were responsible for turning around what would later be called 'The Second City'. Their establishment prospered through its role as both a retail outlet for fresh roasted coffee and also providing cafes with grounds and beans for roasting on site! It wasn't until 1948 that The Second City closed its doors forever after being forced out of business by competition from more modern businesses! Nonetheless, this iconic location still remains one of the most popular tourist destinations in town! While Starbucks may have started off as a small cup shop in Seattle (the company's humble beginnings can be traced back to 1976), their continued success shows that coffee can be extremely successful when properly marketed! Stars like Oprah Winfrey have frequented these pods all over America since they hit the scene – proof that coffee doesn't need to come from anywhere to be great!

Tampa, Florida is a city in the state of Florida. As of the 2010 census, Tampa had a population of over 660,000 people and is the third-largest city in Florida after Miami and Jacksonville. The city is located on Tampa Bay, just south of Hillsborough County. Other nearby towns include St Petersburg to the east, Clearwater to the north, and Dunedin to the west. The area now known as Tampa was first inhabited by Native Americans. The first European settler in what is now Tampa was Captain John Smith who landed there in 1565 during his exploration of North America. In 1795, Spanish explorer Hernando de Soto discovered and named Tampa Bay after General James Clinton who had been killed fighting Native Americans at Lake Okeechobee near present-day Sarasota. At that time there were few permanent settlements in this part of Florida because it was still mostly uninhabited land. After Spain ceded Florida to United States in 1821, American settlers began arriving here from Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee and other parts of America. After a series of massacres committed by American Indians against whites living in Indian Territory (now Oklahoma), Congress passed an act dated February 16th 1835 giving Seminole Tribe members Permanentresident Status under US Constitution with right to vote & own property without Creek or Seminole Nation interference In 1846 Sam Houston's Expedition set out from Houston Heights on horseback through Boca Raton Pass into southern Pinellas County searching for new land grants for himself and his army where they discovered oil wells being drilled by Russian/American company under licence from Russia at Cudjoe Key which led them to name their settlement "Cudjoe" after its location on an abandoned peninsula forming offshore nearly due north opposite Cuba - thus providing another reason for future generations not having learned about their original discovery until much later! A year later they founded Houston Texas with this new town as their capital; soon afterwards they constructed Fort Brooke along Withrovia creek (now Old Fort Brooke) across from today's terminals #1 & #2 Gulfport Landing on pier almost within walking distance of downtown! By 1870 most all non military activity had ceased so renamed Ft Brooke became Depot Street Business District Headquarters...and remains so today! A hundred years ago today $1 could buy you 3 square feet inside Downtown now less than 1/4 acre lot can get you ..... 50 cents back then! It wasn't until 1959 when Aramis Ayala opened his namesake restaurant “Ayala” – one of only 4 restaurants ever licensed by then Mayor Richard Mlodinow & City Manager Ray Knight – that downtown started attracting professional families such as Hollywood stars Vincent Price (Pinellas Boulevard), Debbie Reynolds (Fort Brooke Road), Ronald Reagan (Hollywood Boulevard & Washington Avenue) among others who would frequent Coyote Café for breakfast or lunch before continuing their day's activities around downtown prior going home or returning early evening if needed etc Also starting off small but quickly growing businesses like Laundromat (1951), Bakery ($1964 opening), Taxi Service ($1966 opening)…..then thru 1967 Electrician $5 bill electric light bulb got invented….the list goes on And while many have left since then – many more have taken root including several high end steak houses (Lincoln Mark Steak House 1951 purchase worth millions!), 2 movie theaters(MGM Grand Theatre 1962 purchase worth millions!), 2 hospitals(University Hospital 1970 purchase worth millions!)…..plus countless smaller businesses making up our fabric these days Finally 7 years ago we celebrated our centenary with major renovations including installation of StateofFlorida logo throughout entire building plus addition returned much loved streetlights

Tampa, Florida is a city in Hillsborough County, Florida, on the Gulf of Mexico. The population was 207,824 at the 2010 census. It is the second-largest city in Tampa Bay after St Petersburg. The area that would become Tampa was first settled by Algonquian Indians in what is now Hillsborough County. A military fort was built here in 1798 by General James Kenedy as part of American efforts to secure control over the Mobile Strip and its trade with Spain. In 1825, the town of Safety Harbor was established on an island in Tampa Bay and it quickly grew into one of America's leading port cities. In 1907, Tampa became a state capital and remained so until 1959 when Gainesville became the state capital again. In 1898 Samuel Parsons donated land for what would become Pinellas Park which later became downtown Tampa. In 1905, Mayor John Pemberton designated Veterans Memorial Boulevard as a public way through town to honor those who have served our country during World War I and World War II. In 1918, Forbes Park opened as a large park located north of downtown near Clearwater beachfront service station (now known as Regal Cinemas). Forbes had been donated by Forbes Electric Company president Bruce Forbes to serve as a `park for all people'. The park attracted many people from throughout Central Florida who came to enjoy fishing, swimming and golfing opportunities while spending their summer days outside or inside their homes or businesses. Downtown streetcar service began operating along Veterans Memorial Boulevard in 1922 extending eastward from US 1/US 19 near West Shore Road into downtown Tampa; streetcar lines were eliminated beginning in 1937 due to budgetary constraints within the newly formed City government led by Mayor Coyle Callahan The transfer finish line for buses at Dunedin Street & Northwest Drive served both downtowns - before being moved west onto Dunedin Street just east of Midtown Center mall where it remains today

This was a time when the United States was growing rapidly and there were few places for British immigrants to live. Tampa soon became a bustling port and trade center for the area. The early residents did not lack for opportunity, however; some became successful merchants and politicians while others took advantage of the new land they had found. By 1840, Tampa had become a thriving city with over 10,000 people living in it. It was during this time that influential people such as Andrew Johnson began their career in American politics. The city experienced many changes during its heyday but one thing remained constant: its fishing industry which continues to be an important part of its economy today. In 1906, Tampa hosted the Panama-Pacific International Exposition which helped spur economic growth throughout the region. During World War II, Tampa played an important role in providing supplies for military units stationed abroad. Today, it remains a vibrant city with strong cultural ties to Britain and other parts of Europe
