It is this award that helped inspire Prince Philip, heir apparent to England’s Monarchical system, to begin conservation work around our seaside communities across Britain during his reign as King George VI. Over time various other individuals have contributed their expertise and knowledge about maritime life in order to support sustainable practices and prevent damage to both our oceans and our environment. Many notable figures such as Sir James Cook are considered icons for their dedication towards science fiction exploration while at the same time working diligently towards preserving our planet’s resources – something we can all learn from!

In 1933, safety Harbor became one of two communities in Collier County to be developed as an industrial area with heavy manufacturing production associated with shipyards and other industries until this century. In 1961,Safety Harbor adopted its first city charter and began developing plans for annexation by Tampa which would have merged intoCollier County but this never happened due to opposition from then-Governor Bob Graham and local politicians.
