Pinecrest, Florida is home to the Pine Crest Shooting Club and shooting range. The club has been in operation since 1892 and preserves its history by hosting annual matches and exhibitions. The range is a 12-hour drive from Tampa, but it offers a variety of shotguns and handguns for guests to try out. The first shotgun that was ever used in an official match at Pinecrest was a Winchester Model 1895 chambered in .35 Remington Magnum. In 1902, the club hosted its first skeet match with a Heckler & Koch HSG21 rifle. Since then, the club has hosted numerous skeet tournaments with various firearms. In 2006, the Club held their first trap match with a Glock 19 pistol. Today, the Pinecrest Shooting Club hosts regular events such as airsoft competitions and muzzleloading competitions as well as target practice and sporting clays matches with various firearms. There are also several gun shows each year that feature both new and vintage firearms from around the world.

Pinecrest is a small town in Polk County, Florida, United States. The population was 1,026 at the 2010 census. Pinecrest is part of the Jacksonville metropolitan area. It is located on U.S. Route 41 north of Jacksonville and west of Stonington. The town was founded in 1907 by two brothers, John and Harry Payne Cushing, who were entrepreneurs in the citrus industry. The original name for the village was "Fresno". In 1922, Pinecrest became an incorporated municipality with a population of 1008 people; it lost its incorporated status in 1959 to become a unincorporated township under the jurisdiction of Polk County. A post office called Pinecrest has been in operation since 1907. As of the 2000 census, there were 1,026 residents living in Pinecrest Township; as well as 352 residents living in other Unincorporated Areas within Polk County which are considered part of Pinecrest Township: 207 of these residents lived inside the city limits of Jacksonville while 373 residents lived outside city limits but within city or county boundaries; all other boundaries - including those between municipalities - remain unchanged from before 2007 when they were outlawed by then-Polk County Commissioner Rick Quinn due to concerns about possible annexation by Jacksonville should such borders be changed again (see map). According to the United States Census Bureau's 2006 American Community Survey 7% (of all households) have Hispanic or Latino origins; this number rises to 11% (households 5+ heads) when Hispanics or Latinos are counted among spouses and unmarried partners who are not citizens or legal permanent residents of their country Of these 11%, 8% identify as Catholic and 3% identify as Protestant/ evangelical church affiliation

Pinecrest was founded on November 8, 1867 by Captain John L. Smith as a summer plantation for his wealthy friend and investor, Andrew Mellon. The original land consisted of about 2,000 acres of swamp and pine forest. In 1901 Pinecrest became a citrus-growing town with a population of 1,500 people. By the early 1920s, however, the citrus industry had declined and Pinecrest's population shrunk to 350 people by 1930. However, its status as a small agricultural town gradually increased; in 1948 Pinecrest became the first town in Florida to receive an economic development award from the state government for its progress in keeping up with modern day needs. In 1976 Pinecrest attained city status and continues to grow steadily today with a population of over 7600 residents (2000 Census). The history of Pinecrest is full of important moments that have impacted the community both positive and negative. Many significant events took place here during its early days such as when Captain John Smith established himself as one of Florida's leading landowners; when he sold land at what is now downtown Pine Crest for $1 per acre; or when it became part of what is now Miami-Dade County on March 4th, 1898.pinecrest has also been through some tough times including during World War II when many people left due tooverty or fear for their safety; or even more recently during Hurricane Irma which caused extensive damage to much property in town including several businesses that were completely destroyed . One prominent resident who has long been involved in the community is Mayor Harry Jones who has held office since 1978. He brings his own unique perspective to City Hall because he grew up here and knows most intimately about how things work here - something that many new mayors lack experience with but which makes him very successful in running this wonderful community .
