Palmetto, Florida is a small town in southern Palm Beach County, Florida. The population was 3,812 at the 2000 census. It is part of the Miami-Dade metropolitan area. The first permanent European settlers in Palmetto were Frenchmen who arrived in 1763 and named it for the palm tree that grew near their trading post on Biscayne Bay. In 1907, John Witherspoon built a sawmill on Pompano beach which soon became one of the most important employers in town. In 1824–25, Arab slaves working on plantations in Africa brought back their own crop of wildcrafted coffee which was processed into roastable beans within three years according to Spanish Methodology. At this time two other new methods were developed: Bimetallic roasting where roasted Beans are combined with air at high pressure then heated until they burst open; these days called Heat Roasting The market for quality cup-of-coffee became increasingly complex over time as technological advances improved processing efficiency across all levels of production including roasting/packaging/distribution etc Furthermore globalization allowed manufacturers from around the world access to valuable raw materials like cocoa beans which made continued innovation essential For example German manufacturer Krombacher took advantage of developing Brazilian rain forests in order to produce Shade Grown Coffee which yielded higher quality biomass than what could be achieved using traditional plantation methods

The history of Palmetto began withCaptain Amasa Fitch and his wife Julia who were natives of Canada and decided to move to America to start a new life. They arrived in Gainesville, Florida on April 4th, 1853. After arriving in America they started their own farm which became an important part of the local economy. In 1865 Captain Fitch donated land for the construction of what is now the old Episcopal Church which still stands today.
In 1907 Mayor John Crouch appointed Mr. Harry Huggins as Trustee for Palmetto School District No. 2 which included present day Palmetto Township as well as parts of Arcadia and Taylor counties lying east and south of Fort Myers Beach respectively quelching access to most parts of Polk County northward until then by way onlyof Highway 9 or US-1 (later known as I-75). On July 15th 1907 Hurricane Wilma swept through our area leaving extensive damage throughout much rural Polk County including Our Lady’s High School where classes were held over night before being evacuated out into open fields west side highway 95 near mile marker 12 when Makela hit us killing 5 children <a href=&#Array[0]%5Bhttp://www2….com/pdf/historic_palmettoflorida_-_heritage_programme__vol_1…..pdf&#Array[1] target=”blank”>here. This was one such devastating event that forever changed our community and left many residents with lasting memories that include: gatherings at Our Lady’s during storm times each year since then “til we all died” according to one resident who attended those gatherings later Life Magazine interviewed him* .
