The Florida National Guard was activated on November 10, 1907. The first unit to be activated under the name of the Florida National Guard was Company C, 6th Infantry Regiment. There were no real plans for a national guard until after World War I when President Woodrow Wilson called for an all-volunteer force in order to protect US interests abroad. In 1916, the National Guard Bureau created the Uniformed Services Reserve Corps (USRC) and activated Companies G and H from the Army Reserve. In 1917, units from both services combined to form 1st Brigade, 8th Infantry Regiment which then became Company D of 2nd Battalion, 9th Infantry Regiment before becoming 3rd Battalion 9th Infantry Regiment in 1918. It is interesting to note that there have been only 13 total mobilizements of the Florida National Guard since 1907 so it is likely that this activation came about as a result of mobilization orders given out during those years instead of being specifically requested by President Wilson or any higher ranking military officer. In 1923, it was decided that members of state militias would become part of a federally organized militia known as The United States Military Forces in Cuba (USMFC), which would continue operate even after Cuba gained its independence in 1934. This organization allowed for soldiers from other states who had served in The United States Armed Forces in Cuba to rejoin their state militias providing they fulfilled certain statutory requirements such as living within your home state and having completed four years service at least. These troops were also known as “Volunteers” because you did not receive any type of combat pay or benefits like officers did back then. Beginning on July 1st, 1927 all volunteer units became part of what was now called The Tampa-based 4th Infantry Division which consisted primarily of Regular Army soldiers with some Air Force and Marine divisions thrown into the mix over time depending on missions or events occurring overseas or domestically at home. On September 15th 1928 the division deployed along with other commands across Texas into Oklahoma Territory where they participated in Operation Chisel which aimed to stop stagecoach robberies by Native American tribesmen near Muskogee Falls while supplies were being transported through that area between Tulsa and Cheyenne Bluffs Treaty Land thus helping provide food supplies for local farmers during hard times prior to World War II! After successfully concluding their deployment within Oklahoma two weeks later they moved onto Kansas City where they relieved Confederate forces occupying there city following Battle Of Fort Riley on August 16th 1929 prior to participating in Operation Crossroads which aimed to cross Missouri River into Texas destroying bridges over said river while avoiding hostile Indian activity located east of Wichita Falls resulting in three dead Indians along with six wounded troopers including one major General John Fenton who took command leading his brigade during this event . After completing their objectives however they quickly withdrew back across Missouri River towards Arkansas whereupon returning home via train beginning October 2nd 1930 just days shy of Thanksgiving Day . As a result all non-combatant troops returned home safely without incident except one enlisted man who contracted cholera while stationed near Joplin Missouri during this time period . Thereafter federalized militia status continued unchanged until 1935 when another change occurred when Troop A1 (Florida) converted into Headquarters Company (HC) 5/9ths Field Artillery battalion becoming operational on December 1st 1935 from Battery A3 redesignated Bty A5(FL) Field Artillery regiment effective January 1st 1936 . With this new designation comes new equipment including M4A2 tanks dating back to World War II with these tanks eventually serving throughout most operations against ISIS/ISIL using air support supplemented by artillery fire

The Oviedo, Florida National Guard is one of the oldest and most long-standing organizations in the state. It was founded on December 8, 1881 by Governor John S. Morgan as a regiment of militia to provide law and order during Reconstruction. The unit grew rapidly over the next few years and by 1887 had formed its own brigade, becoming part of the Florida Army National Guard. On March 16, 1907, Oviedo's first battalion of the Guards was activated with full honors under General John Pershing as part of America's entry into World War I. The battalion served honorably through both theaters of war and gave their all to protect American citizens and interests overseas. After the war ended, the battalion continued to serve until it was disbanded on October 1, 1922. On July 12, 1941, Oviedo's second battalion (now known as Company A) was activated with full honors under General MacArthur as part of America's entry into World War II. The company served honorably through both theaters of war and given their all to protect American citizens and interests abroad once again. After the war ended in 1945, Company A continued to serve until it was disbanded on September 15th 1969 when it merged with another group within the Guards called "Company B" which also later became known as "Oviedo Regiment". In 1957-1959 three companies were reactivated: Company C (now known as Company E), Company D (now known as Company F), then finally company G (now known as Company H). These companies served for two years before being disbanded due to budget cuts which forced many Guards units in Tallahassee to disband too.>>>
Oviedo, Florida is a small town in Hillsborough County, Florida. The population was 2,752 at the 2010 census. Oviedo is located on the Gulf of Mexico about 25 miles east of Tampa and 40 miles west of Clearwater. According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of , all of it land. The first European settlers in what is now Oviedo were Scottish farmers who arrived in 1823 as part of a group known as "The Knights." They named their new settlement after Pedro de Oviedo y Valdés, an Admiral who had fought against Spanish forces during the War for Independence. The Scotsmen also built some initial buildings and set up a post office in 1825. The original town site was situated near where present day Highway 27 intersects US-1 (now State Road 517). In 1868, Indian traders from Lake Okeechobee delegation stopped at Oviedo on their way south to sell goods they had cached along the coast before leaving for St Petersburg. Captain Fenton Richards, commanding HMS "Dromedary" at that time surveyed what would become present day Hillsborough County when he returned from his trip inlate 1868. He recommended that this area be included within Hillsborough County limits and so it was. In 1923 – due to water shortages caused by World War I – Oviedo began importing salt water fish from Red Sea ports which led to its nickname “Salt City” because no fresh water could be found nearby to freshwater fish ponds or reservoirs necessary for raising large numbers of these fish for human consumption As with many small towns during this time period there were few if any public services available such as schools or fire departments; citizens relied instead on volunteerism or family assistance until recently when city services have been added such as streetlighting and police patrolling . As with almost every other community during this time period there also existed an unofficial “community center” consisting primarily of one or two homes used by local officials for meetings and occasional functions while little else was done outside the bounds of infrastructure (roads/parks), general store/cafeteria/barbecue restaurant/movie theater etc… prior to recent annexation into city limits
The National Guard has always been a part of the United States. The first national guard was raised in 1792, during the George Washington Administration. There have been various incarnations of the national guard over time, but it is generally defined as an organization that exists to provide military support for the federal government on a local level. The first national guard unit was organized on May 15, 1792 and was called "The Volunteer Rangers." There have been many variations to how the national guard has been organized and functioned throughout its history. However, one constant has been its role as a provider of military support to the federal government. One significant event that took place during President George Washington's first term in office occurred when he ordered 1,000 men from Virginia to be drafted into the national guard. This order represented a significant change in protocol for the nation because prior to this time, all citizens were required to contribute militarily to either serve in militia or pay taxes. It is also important to note that this order did not mark the beginning of a trend where citizens were drafted into the national guards; rather it was simply another example of how patriotism could be used as a tool for democracy within America. During President James Ketchum's second term in office, there were some efforts made by Congresswoman Pollyanna Jones to get more soldiers mobilized into state militias so that they could supplement what was being done by local militias. This effort failed however, largely due to lack of funding and political opposition from powerful individuals within Congresswoman Jones' own party. In 1814 however, after New York Yankees captured General John Burgoyne at Saratoga Springs and then turned him over to General George Washington, most people began believe that if Burgoyne had stayed incarcerated instead of surrendering he would have become an martyr instead of just another casualty in what became known as "the American Revolution." As a result, news spread through America about Burgoyne's capture which led many people who opposed war with Great Britain turn their attention towards supporting Washington rather than joining forces with British rebels. After occupying Philadelphia following its victory at Battle Of Germantown on September 11th (1777), British troops under General Sir William Howe set up camp east of town and began preparing themselves for an assault on Philadelphia based off rumors that American forces had hidden inside Independence Hall (which actually happened). On October 14th (1777), Patriot volunteers marched from Reading Terminal Market towards Independence Hall only for Howe's troopsTo open fire resulting in five deaths including one volunteer captain named Samuel Adams who lost his life while shielding his comrades from bullets.(Adams remains buried at Federal Hill Cemetery.) This incident helped spur calls throughout America for new arms control measures between England and America which eventually led directly into World War II

In 1865, after the end of the Civil War, Oviedo experienced a rapid growth spurt which led to its becoming one of Florida's most populous cities by 1870. By 1907, Oviedo had reached its peak as a commercial center with several large businesses including United Fruit Company (now Citigroup), International Paper Company (now Jardine Matheson Asset Management), and Molten Salt Company (now Raytheon). However, during World War II much of this development halted as it was interrupted by military campaigns in Europe which destroyed many transportation infrastructure projects in central Florida.
