At that time, Haines City consisted of a small village located on the east bank of St Johns River between Jacksonville and Gainesville. Mr. Ladd used his free time to purchase this rifle for use by himself and his family during their visits to Jacksonville. By 1880, gun sales had increased significantly in Haines City due to its proximity to both Jacksonville and Gainesville as well as its popularity as a tourist destination for shooters from both areas. Many people within HainesCity decided they needed their own firearm so they started buying or leasing handguns from local manufacturers such as Colt & Company and Royal Dutch Shell Company (Rochester). In 1886, Buffalo Bill Cody arrived in town with his Wild West Show and he quickly became known for bringing firearms into town- including purchasing several handguns from Colt & Company himself! In 1898, following passage of the National Firearms Act Amendments of 1934 which defined “firearm” broadly instead of simply being a handgun or rifle, all firearms sales within state limits must now be registered with the federal government through federally licensed dealers like those used by Randal Halliday at NAAFE Headquarters in Springfield, Virginia back then! This action effectively stopped any further importation/export of handguns within state boundaries until it was again allowed under current law in 1994! In 1933-1964 there was also significant growth within pistol sales due not just thereto but also because ammunition became available commercially starting around 1920 which resulted in many residents becoming ammo collectors! By 1964 Ammo Collector Day had become an annual event held on November 10th each year throughout Polk County celebration recognizing this history while promoting responsible gun ownership practices!
