The most recent Dunedin roaster to achieve significant fame is Java Joes Café Inc., which opened its doors in 2006 and quickly gained acclaim for its creative java blends as well as its impressive cup quality. Java Joes has since relocated several times but remains one of Dunedin's most popular local businesses.

Dunedin is a town in Polk County, Florida, United States. The population was 3,711 at the 2010 census. It lies on the Dunedin Peninsula on Clearwater Bay and is part of the Tampa-St Petersburg-Clearwater Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first European settlers in what is now Dunedin were French Canadians who arrived during the 17th century. In 1837, Dunedin was founded as an agricultural community by Scotsmen who had fledglow to take up land homesteading after experiencing British occupation of their native Scotland. A post office was established in 1839, and by 1848, there were three stores and one bank in the community. By 1861, when it incorporated as a town, Dunedin had a population of 1,500 people. As Dunedin grew more populous and developed its economy through agriculture and commerce, it began to attract attention from developers looking for sites for new townships or villages in east central Florida that could be quickly populated with high-density housing developments. In 1916–17, developer J.B. Lumber Company purchased land near present-day downtown for what would become Clearwater Beach; Lumber Company built several large beachfront homes that remain standing today including Dunedin's first shopping center – the "Dunedin Plaza" – which opened in 1924 and remains an important commercial center today

Dunedin is a community located in Polk County, Florida, United States. The population was 5,841 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Tampa-Clearwater-Hollywood, FL Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first permanent settler in Dunedin was Wm. J. Hickey who arrived in 1836 and named it after his friend and mentor John Dunmore which he had seen on a map from England. Hickey's home was built near present day Boulevard Street and Railroad Avenue on land donated by Pemberton heirs John Clements and James Pemberton Sr.. In 1838 Captain George Stephenson settled in what is now Dunedin with his family after purchasing 640 acres (220 hectares) of land from Averill Harriman for £10 per acre ($2,600). On October 1st 1839 the town of Dunedin was organized when 7 citizens gathered together to vote on whether to form a town or continue as an outlying post on Stuart Creek. They voted 3 to 2 to form a town with voting privileges within three months. On November 10th 1840 Wm.. Hickey was elected Mayor with over 60% of the vote becoming the first African American mayor in Florida history. In 1850 gold discoveries were made at Demerara Springs making Dunedin one of the most important mining towns in America; however, due to its small size it did not experience much growth until after World War II when it became a popular retirement community for military veterans and their families . At its peak during the late 1940s and early 1950s there were over 6,000 residents living primarily inside two large housing complexes: Veterans Memorial Homes & Townhomes which are still standing today across from Veterans Stadium which played host to both college football games (Florida State Seminoles vs Miami Hurricanes) as well as international tournaments such as The Open Championship golf tournament hosted by Nike between 1990 and 1998; while also hosting various functions throughout the year including annual dances held at civic center featuring live music nightly while pictures are taken inside; all this activity attracted millions of visitors each year!
