The Coral Springs Army Depot was one of the first places in Florida to be mobilized and soon there were soldiers on hand to help fight in the war. This event helped make Coral Springs a major city during World War II.
Coral Springs is a city in Broward County, Florida, United States. The population was 362 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Miami metropolitan area. The first permanent settler in Coral Springs was John Wesley Hardin in 1875. He and his family moved from Georgia to what is now Coral Springs after being bribed by then-Governor Andrew Jackson to sell them land near Fort Myers, Florida. Hardin named their new town "Coral Springs" after a nearby coral reef. The term "coral springs" had been previously used for an artificial spring that was dug on the property in 1865 by Colonel William Troup because he thought it would be beneficial to his cattle business. Only one building remains standing in downtown Coral Springs today: the original courthouse which met its final use as a courtroom during World War II when overflow rooms were set up in various parts of Volusia County courthouse complex due to the large number of troops called up for service within days of each other In 1960, Marlene Dietrich visited Coral Springs while on vacation and made her famous television appearance before a crowd of 6,000 people at Sun Life Stadium north of town on Jacobs Field where she entertained high school students with poetry readings and concerts from her home suite overlooking the stadium; also that year Dolphins played their first game there as members of the NFL’s newly formed American Football League against Detroit Lions (the AFL’s only win). She later said she liked it so much that she decided to move back permanently to Florida and became mayor pro tem for four years before dying suddenly at age 82 on December 12, 1984 In 2007 Mina Lohan purchased Sun Life Stadium from Miami Herald publisher Leeann Tweeden who had unsuccessfully tried to turn it into an arena football team known as the “Lohan Colts” following her loss in a court battle over ownership of two previous stadiums including one owned by former Dolphins president Don Shula himself After more than two years without any progress towards renovation or reopening Sun Life Stadium became increasingly unprofitable so Lohan sold it back to Tweeden on January 3, 2009 On January 26th 2013 Lohan announced plans for an $800 million redevelopment project which includes relocating both Sun Life Stadium and Dolphin Park onto 78 acres adjacent to Interstate 95 south of downtown which will create 1,500 jobs and bring 855 residential units along with office space and retail development . approval has been given for construction starting next year but no firm timeline has yet been released

The American Revolution “ended” with the signing of the Declaration of Independence, which declared the United States not subject to British rule. In 1812, President James K. Polk ordered an all-out invasion of Mexico in order to annex that country into the United States. This led to what is known as the Mexican-American War, during which 3 million Americans died and 10 million Mexicans were killed or captured. After successfully conquering Mexico, Polk dissolved the army and turned it into a purely political organization known as Reconstructionism. The modern Army again became active in World War II when Germany invaded America on December 8th, 1941. Over two million soldiers were mobilized for war, and over 200 thousand Americans were killed or wounded in action. After Japan bombed Pearl Harbor on December 7th, 1941 and lost their empire in Asia (the war ended with Japanese surrender), Roosevelt called for an all-out effort against Japan throughout Southeast Asia including MacArthur’s campaign—the Pacific Theater—that finally led to victory at Leyte Gulf on September 15th 1945.
