In 2007, Green Dolphin Coffeeopened up in Aventura. Green Dolphin Coffee was known for their large selection of roasts and smoothies which theysell through thefront window during business hours or online at www.gdcafedaveverde.com . In 2011, Green Dolphin Cafe shut down due to financial difficulties but reopened later that year under new ownership with a different name- Blue Bottle Coffee

The town was founded in 1912 by Spanish settlers on the North Fork of the Miami River. Aventura became a Fort Lauderdale suburb after being annexed by Fort Lauderdale in 1959. In 2002, Aventura voters passed a referendum to become an unincorporated community within Broward County and its own government. On November 6th, 2009, Aventura incorporation was granted with full voting rights and responsibility for all municipal decisions by Broward County commissioners. Aventura, Florida is a city in Miami-Dade County, Florida, United States. The population was 563 at the 2010 census. Aventura is part of the Miami metropolitan area and is the most populous municipality within that area. The history of Aventura begins with two Spanish explorers who came to America in 1513 and 1514. They named it "Ventura" after their hometown of Burgos, Spain. In 1824, Captain Isidore Gomez established a whaling station on what is now known as Point Loma Boulevard in Aventura and developed it into a major commercial center for the trip from Cuba to Tampa Bay. He also built a monumental mansion there which still stands today, still used as headquarters for various business interests including an insurance company and a law firm. In 1902, citrus growers began to arrive in Aventuras looking for land south of Biscayne Bay for their crops because they could not find any suitable spots nearer home. By 1916 there were more than 100 citrus orchards in Aventuras alone! The fruit crop continued to be important until 1995 when pineapples became the dominant fruit grower due to climate change and other factors such as pests and diseases introduced by humans into this region during the 20th century.
Aventura grew up around the Aventura plantation, founded in 1785 by Spanish settlers. In 1824, a group of Englishmen bought the plantation and moved it to what is now Belleair. The town started growing rapidly after annexation by Florida in 1836. In 1840, Aventura became an incorporated city and in 1851 it was renamed for Don José María de la Cruz y Cajal, last Viceroy of Cuba. In 1912, Aventura became part of the United States and its population increased rapidly as American workers came to help build roads, railroads, and other infrastructure across the state. The city continued to grow until the early 1970s when suburban development began to take hold. Aventura has a warm climate with hot summers and mild winters; average monthly temperatures range from 28°F (17°C) in February to 44°F (7°C) in July. The highest temperature ever recorded was 38°F (3°C).
