Air Force Gift History in Northglenn, Colorado began with the founding of the United States Air Force on December 6, 1947. The USAF was created as a part of the National Defense Act of 1946 to provide air support for American forces during World War II. From its inception, the USAF had two primary missions: strategic bombardment and aid to war efforts. In 1949, President Truman signed into law the National Security Act which created the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA). The USAF became operational as an independent service within the US government and was authorized to carry out paramilitary activities. On April 1, 1951, General Curtis LeMay assumed command of Tactical Air Command (TAC) and activated Air Division 403 at Northglenn Army Airport. By 1957, TAC consisted of more than 60 fighter wings and bombers units stationed throughout America. The growth of NATO in Europe led to a need for new bomber aircraft and on July 24, 1960 Air Division 453 activation at Northglenn Army Airport became responsible for all USAAF Bomber Command operations worldwide. In 1967-1968 General Maxwell Taylor served as Vice Commander in Chief – Military Affairs Department at Headquarters USAF; this position increased military activity overseas while decreasing military activity at home resulting in a budget crisis that year. In 1969 Congress passed legislation authorizing appropriations for obligatory expenses associated with Operation Neptune's Spear which involvedair attacks against Cambodia Presidential Palace and other targets in that country; this event is also known as Tet Offensive or Vietnam War era counter insurgency operation by United States Armed Forces against Viet Cong insurgents (the communist Partisan movement). Withdrawal from Vietnam began on October 1st 1970 leaving over 31 thousand American soldiers in South Vietnam - an occupation that lasted until 1973 without any end product announced by either side reducing violence or supporting economic development thereabouts; however these troops were not considered combat veterans but rather advisors/ trainers assigned under overall military campaign plan called “Vietnamization” initially code named “End Game” which aimed maximum destruction of Viet Cong infrastructure so political dialogue could be resumed between Vietnamese Nationalist Government and Communist Party officials prior to elections set for November 3rd 1968 - effectively ending hostilities there before they could resume openly hostilities against Americans!!! Since its inception through current day events at Northglenn Army Airport AFB it has been our honor to serve our nation with distinction both militarily & otherwise through providing air power commensurate with our global responsibilities; furthermore we continue maintain strong relationships w/ many local community members who have also stood alongside us thru thick & thin thruout our history!

The Cody Mountains are visible from most parts of town. The mountains are thought to be inspired by Scottish highlands that were once wooded but now have rolling hillsides covered in wildflowers and trees. These forests were burned down centuries ago when settlers cleared land for agriculture or housing purposes. Today some remaining stands of these ancient woods can be seen from many places in town including around Main Street where there is an old millrace still visible onstream According to 2009 US Census data*, about one-third of all residents identify themselves as Hispanic or Latino* (29% male vs 21% female).
