Since the early days of the USAF, airforce gift history has been an important part of the community. The USAF has always been a proud and supportive organization, and countless people have given their time and resources to support our mission. Some of the most famous air force gifts include military planes, missiles, tanks, tools, uniforms and more. Today, we continue to celebrate air force gift history in Loveland by giving away unique pieces of memorabilia from past years. The USAF Museum is located in Loveland and offers many items related to the Air Force. One of our favorite displays is called "The History of USAAF Weapons". This exhibit features over 100 weapons from different eras including WWII munitions, fighter jets and even a Civil War cannon! In addition to The History of USAAF Weapons, there are also several other interesting displays such as "Aircraft From Loveland" which tells the story about how various aircraft have come to be stationed inLoveland over the years. This includes everything from World War II bombers to modern day fighters!

On July 10, 1944, the United States Air Force purchased an airplane from the Swissair Corporation. The name of this aircraft was the A-23 Havoc. It served as a training platform and bomber for aerial refueling operations during World War II. On December 3, 1946, the A-23 Havoc was retired from service and donated to Loveland Air National Guard Base.
Loveland is a small town in Weld County, Colorado, United States. The population was 2,821 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Fort Collins–Loveland Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first people to arrive in Loveland were the Ute Tribe who built their communal village on the current site of downtown Loveland in 1868. They hunted and gathered plants and animals for food and clothing, which they boiled down into broth or cooked over open fires before eating. Over time, other tribes joined or replaced them as Loveland grew into a small but influential city by 1890. In 1907, Loveland became home to the world's first successful automobile race when it hosted the Denver-Colorado Springs Automobile Race from three days to two weeks long. The event attracted drivers from around North America and helped drive innovation in automotive design. In 1916, Loveland was also home to one of America's earliest airmail service providers when Western Electric established its Aerial Mail Service here from an experimental station on Belleview Hill. In 1951, Loveland became the birthplace of American astronaut Neil Armstrong when he became one of five astronauts selected for NASA's " Gemini" program; Armstrong would later become the first human being ever to walk on Earth orbit with his module "Eagle" during Apollo 11 (the only manned mission to land on Earth without an orbiting spacecraft). Colorado had been chosen as one of six sites across America where Gemini testing could take place; however due to high costs associated with building launch pads at Canaveral Air Force Base outside Orlando Florida – including adjacent Pinellas County – Phoenix Arizona took control of Gemini operations beginning May 6th,. In September 1969 – less than two months after Apollo 11 reached orbit – Apollo 13 impacted near Lwinona OK killing all seven astronauts including commander Edwin "Buzz" Aldrin (and creating some large questions about how safe spaceflight really was) However Armstrong still walked on Earth!
The USAF has a rich history of gift giving. The Military Airpower Museum in Dayton, Ohio, has an exhibit on the history of air force gifts. One of the first USAF gifts was a Morane-Saulnier monoplane fighter airplane to the French Air Force in 1936. In 1956, USAF personnel gave a Lockheed P-2 Neptune aircraft as a Christmas present to their Vietnamese counterparts. The Navy also received numerous USAF gifts during World War II and the Cold War. One such gift was an F-4 Phantom jet fighter airplane which was given to the Saudi Arabian military in 1971 as part of US assistance for that country's campaign against communism. Today, the USAF continues to give Gifts unto Others through its many programs and initiatives such as Operation Homefront andOperation Christmas Tree.

Loveland is a small town in Weld County, Colorado, United States. The population was 1,821 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Grand Junction Metropolitan Statistical Area. The town was founded by farmers on land that now forms the eastern edge of Grand Junction. The first post office opened in 1887. Loveland became a city in 1912 and annexed the nearby towns of Arapahoe and Roberts in 1949. The population reached 2,000 in 1970, and peaked at 4,242 in 2000 before slowly declining to 1,915 as housing prices rose throughout Colorado and other western US cities. However, Loveland has seen recent growth as an agricultural center with expanded production of corn, soybeans, cottonseed oil, eggs and honey. Today Loveland remains economically active with several large businesses including Cargill Meat Solutions (now Tyson Foods), PepsiCo Canada Inc., Emerson Electric Co., Great Western State Fairgrounds & Event Center LLC., Summit muffler company Pigeon Forge Manufacturing Company and IGA Supermarkets Assurance Corporation among others
The city of Loveland, Colorado was founded in 1876 by James W. Hill and John H. Custer. The city is named for the Loudoun River, which flows through it. The river served as a means of transportation for the early pioneers who lived in the area.
