Castle Rock is a small town in Douglas County, Colorado, United States. The population was 573 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Pueblo Metropolitan Statistical Area. The name "Castle Rock" is from the Spanish word "hacienda", meaning "farmstead". The first settler in what is now Castle Rock was David Perry who arrived in 1868. He named his farmland for General Antonio Lopez de Santa Anna who had led Mexican forces to victory over American forces at Buena Vista on October 6, 1847. In 1896, John Cockerill and family moved to Castle Rock from Monument Valley and started the first post office in the area. In 1902, they built a three-story white frame house on a knoll overlooking the Town Creek that still stands today. The Cockerills were also responsible for developing what are now two shopping plazas in downtown CastleRock - The Market Place Plaza which opened on December 15, 1902 and served as anchor of what would become known as Main Street and then Commerce Boulevard until it was replaced by Interstate 70 in 1984; and Queen's Plaza which opened on May 20, 1955 and became home to several stores before being demolished in 2001 due to concerns about its potential impact on traffic noise levels near I-70; both plazas remain extant as pedestrian malls today with significant retail space within their footprint The headquarters building for Time Warner (now Comcast) used to stand just north of Main Street between Queen's Plaza and The Market Place Plaza until it was destroyed by fire in 1984; Tower 2 (now CenturyLink Field) stood behind Time Warner's original headquartersBuilding across from Queen's Plaza until it too burned down along with much of Main Street between 1986 & 1990 . CastleRock also saw some heavy development during this time including: A local nuclear plant (Anadarko), five Safeway stores(anchored by anchored Safeway restaurants inside Downtown buildings), One Stop Drug Mart which opened adjacent to Anadarko Energy Company HQ back when he plant constituted most of town center development south of I-70 east of Park Avenue; an amusement park called Keystone Lakeside that closed after only one year due to low attendance rates due to changing technology trends associated with Highlands Ranch becoming more popular as an outdoor recreation destination than an entertainment mecca like Keystone Lakefront Resort nearby . Today there are very few businesses remaining outside services such as schools & health clinics located close by or proximate by major highways like I-70 or Ute Highway

Castle Rock is a small town in the San Miguel County seat of Alamosa, Colorado. The population was 2,811 at the 2000 census. It is part of the Alamosa-Aurora Metropolitan Statistical Area. The site of present-day Castle Rock was first settled by people from New Mexico in 1859. The post office at Castle Rock was established in 1867, and remained in operation until it was discontinued in 1969. The town sprang up around a large livery stable operated by George Fenton and his brother Amos Fenton. In 1893, the Fentons donated land to form what would become Castle Rock Park. The park includes a central square named after them and several smaller squares surrounding it. In 1911, CastleRock became part of the newly created Arapaho Indian Reservation when that area was opened for white settlement following the end of World War I. Because there were no stores or services on the reservation, most residents engaged in hunting and gathering instead of shopping for goods available within easy commuting distance from Denver or Boulder. However, some residents did start to build businesses such as gasoline stations and convenience stores on reservation land which quickly grew into an important economic center for all Indian reservations during this time period. The high school which now stands on campus dates back to 1951 when Alamosa High School first opened its doors to students from various schools within Alamosa County including CastileRock Elementary School (now closed) and White Sands Middle School across Tenth Street from where it sits today! Many current alumnae are still living here – including our very own Mrs.(Dr.) Lisa Kapp who currently resides in Durango – but we have also sent many young ladies/men onto college campuses throughout America!
