In Canon City, Colorado, the Naval Air Station Moffett Field is home to the USS John F. Kennedy (CV-N8) and USS Enterprise (CV-6). These vessels have been deployed in support of Operation Neptune's Spear, which has seen deployments to Afghanistan and Iraq. The Navy also maintains a detachment at Naval Air Station Black Rock in Nevada. The USS John F. Kennedy was first commissioned into service on October 1st, 1945 and served as flagship for Commander Task Group 58.5 during World War II. She was decommissioned on January 15th, 1972 and stricken from the Naval Vessel Register on that same day. On September 19th of that year she was transferred to the Colorado Division of the United States Navy Reserve Force under command of Captain testofegee. She now resides at Moffett Field in California where she is used as part of Exercise Blue Water Simulant II/2003 aboard USS Enterprise (CV-6). USS Enterprise was commissioned into service on February 3rd, 1944 and served as flagship for Commander Task Group 58.4 during World War II before being decommissioned on December 17th 1944 she was transferred to the Colorado Division of the United States Navy Reserve Force under command of Captain Testofegee who now resides at Moffett Field in California where she is used as part of Exercise Blue Water Simulant II/2003 alongside USS John FKKennedy USS Enterprise has made multiple deployments throughout her career including two tours in Afghanistan while escorted by USS John FKKennedy; one tour in Iraq while escorted by USS John FKKennedy; three deployments along side HMS Ark Royal during Operation Neptune's Spear; Guantanamo Bay Film Festival deployment 2007; Bahrain International Maritime Exhibition - HM Ships Liverpool and Glasgow deploys with US Fleet Dark Horse Squadron USS Enterprise Museum will open located off I-15 exit 9A near railroad tracks just south east of downtown Canon City, CO 81226 within 6 months

The second version of NavyDeployedGiftHistory was created in 2001 by Vice Admiral Harry Harris as an online resource for sailors and their families. This site contained personal stories and photos related to service within the navy as well as items that could be used as gifts such as trophies or mementos. The site now features over 6,000 items from across various branches of the military including warships, submarines, aircraft carriers, tanks, artillery pieces, etc. In 2006 Lieutenant General Michael Flynn became Commandant of Marine Corps Commandante Honoris Causa at Quantico Naval Station where he launched a program called “Marine Corps Birthday Gifts” which helped distribute more than 20 thousand complimentary birthday presents annually to Marines stationed aroundthe world at Camp Pendleton Marine Barracks (CAMP PENDLETON). This program has since been duplicated at every marine base worldwide except Quantico Naval Station! In addition General Flynn also established “Navy Birthday Gifts” which provide freebies such as coffee filters or T-shirts to marines if they present them with an appropriate gift during their birthday celebration! It should be noted that this program does not specifically target cadets or enlisted Marines but rather any sailor or serviceman who turns 55 years old! In 2017 General Flynn eliminated all restrictions on how much money Sailors could spend on their birthdays which included open bars/mimosa brunchs at installations ashore alongwith discounts off everything purchased at Marine Corps stores ashore! This move marked an important change in policy because before this there were often times restrictions placed upon marines by certain Headquarters units who felt that excessive spending was inappropriate given their rank and position! Furthermore this change allowed Sailors living away from installations (such as deployed aboard USS Ronald Reagan) greater latitude in regards to purchasing items ashore while still allowing them access to all aspects of Military Life!! It should also be mentioned that prior TO THIS POLICY GENERAL Flynn had instructed Headquarters Personnel NOT TO GIVE FREEBIES TO MARINES ON BIRTHDAYS!!!!!!!!!HERE IS WHY THE REST OF THE MILITARY WORE WHITE AS WELL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
