Brighton, Colorado is a small town located in the Rocky Mountains of western Colorado. The population was 581 at the 2010 census. The first coffee shop opened in Brighton in 1907 and the first roastery opened in 1989. Coffee beans are roasted here on a small scale and hand-selected for their taste, quality, and toxicity levels. The history of Brighton espresso begins with Giovanni Nepomuceno who bought land adjacent to the current Brighton Coffee Shop back in 1907. He began to roast coffee beans on his property, which he named "Nepomuceno's Roasters". Nepomuceno continued to operate his business until 1988 when it merged with another local business called "Milk & Honey". milk&honey continues to produce espresso at its original location until this day. Today, there are still a few remnant businesses that continue to roast coffee from Byron; such as "Thin And Sweet", which has been open since 1984, and "The French Press Place", which has been running since 1990. In addition, there are now several cafes that serve Byron espresso including "Coffee Station" and "Brewster's". These cafes offer an expanded menu than what was available before due to the high-quality grinds offered by Milk & Honey employees as well as new flavor development initiatives undertaken by Thin And Sweet owners Briar Coffee Coastera Hastings and Brewster's landlordsoakers

In 1985, a school was constructed and the community started to grow even more. By 1991, there were over 20 businesses in Brighton with over 100 employees. In 2002, an espresso machine became available which allowed customers to make their own drinks at home. This increased sales for the coffee shop as people could now purchase drinks directly from the barista. In 2006, a new bakery opened which allowed customers to order cakes/cupcakes online or come into the store and pick them up fresh on arrival. Additionally, in 2009, a full-service restaurant called The Grinsteropened which served breakfast until 11am every day including lunchtime services provided by chefs who learned how to cook using coffee as their main course meal source

In 1902, Brighton became a station on the Interurban Railway and developed into an agricultural center due to its fertile soil and proximity to water resources. The growth of Brighton led to the annexation of other towns in San Miguel County during World War II: Pueblo (1943), Northglenn (1945), Arvada (1946), and Westminster (1947). The remaining settlements withinSan Miguel County were absorbed into Brighton by 1955. In recent years, Brighton has been struggling with economic decline and declining populations. However, it has seen some resurgence over the past decade through the development of new businesses and projects such as its successful bid for city status in 2013. As a result of its struggles, many residents have shifted their focus towards larger urban areas such as Denver or Aurora outside of San Miguel County.
