When it comes to coffee, Seal Beach is known for two things: its roasting beans and the large quantities of roasted coffee that it produces. The city has been producing coffee since the 1860s, when a group of Norwegian immigrants started trading coffee beans with local farmers. Coffee production in Seal Beach continued through World War II, but increased after the war due to advancements in technology and better transportation. Today, Seal Beach’s coffee industry employs over 150 people and produces over 1,500 pounds of roasted beans each week. Since Seal Beach is an agricultural town located on the San Andreas Faultline, it has always had a connection to coffee. In fact, one of the first places that settlers in Seal Beach discovered coffee was along a path that crossed the fault line and led back into California. This connection continues to this day; much of what makes Seal Beach so unique is its focus on espresso and roasts from around the world. The first time that anyone got their hands on real ground seal beach coffee was during World War II when American soldiers were stationed in town for months at a time. As they drank their morning cup of Joe they would stop by local cafes and buy some fresh roast beans as souvenirs! Over time, locals started bringing back all sorts of different coffees to try – from Ethiopian Yirgacheffe Beershaft to Guatemalan Tinta de Leche – which gave birth to modern-day Seal Beach Coffee Company (SBCo). SBCo began producing fresh roasted beans right here in town until 1996 when they relocated across town to new facilities in downtown Seal Beach. Today, SBCo remains one of California’s most popular cafes with over 2 million customers monthly who come inside for all types of drinks: espresso drinks (including Lungomare), latte artes (chocolate milk lattes), cappuccinos/mochas/douches (with or without cream), pastries such as croissants/biscuits/french toasties/bagels etc., smoothies (made up mostly of fruits or vegetables) - even non-alcoholic beverages like ginger beer! And if you need any help finding your favorite bean type or flavor we can assist you right here at our store!

The history of coffee can be traced back to the first coffee plants in Africa. The beans were roasted over a fire, and this method of roasting was continued for many years. In the Middle East, beans were roasted on an animal's stomach which produced aarser ground beans that were easier to drink. In the 16th century, Dutch traders began trading with India and Indonesia and discovered coffee. They brought back some of the best-quality Arabica beans, which they roasted themselves. These new roasters became known as "Dutch Coffee". In 1876, British explorer John Marshall visited Java and discovered coffee trees in that area. He brought back some excellent Arabica beans so that these new roasters could continue roast their own beans. This led to the development of Italian Coffee production in Turkey and Greece. By 1912, Dutch Coffee had become world-renowned because it had acquired patents for its unique brewing process (the Koffiekop). This process involved adding water to hot grounds until a thick foam forms; then using a plunger to suck out all of the liquid from the grounds without causing them to turn into clumps or rocks like other brewers did. The resulting coffee was smooth, sweet, rich and chocolatey with notes of almonds and spices
